"Where's your mom and dad?" Casey asked as the six of you entered Zeke's garage.
"Europe, I think," he shrugged, pushing past a clear curtain and walking into his "lab".
After killing Mr. Furlong, and figuring out that aliens actually were taking over, the lot of you piled into Zeke's car and got the fuck out, heading to the safest place in town.
Zeke's house.
"This is some serious shit," Stan nodded, looking over all the test tubes and beakers.
You smirked as you walked around his work table, happening upon a box of caffeine pills, "This is your big secret? Caffeine?"
"You didn't see that," he smirked back as he slid behind you, tossing a rag over the box.
"What are we gonna do with the police not being an option?" Delilah stated, crossing her arms.
"I can call my dad. He'd know what to do," Stan suggested.
"If your dad's even your dad anymore," Casey stated, handing over the jar with the creature in it to Zeke, who sat down at his microscope.
Casey's eyes found their way to the pistol resting on the desk, and he turned to look at the owner, his eyes asking for elaboration.
"It's called a gun, man," Zeke sighed, not taking his eyes off the microscope as he started his little Bill Nye routine.
Using tweezers, he placed the creature under the microscope and held it down as he chopped off its tail.
"What is it?" you asked, leaning over his shoulder.
"We're gonna find out," he stated, holding it over the his rat's cage, "Hey, come here, Oscar."
He dropped the severed tail in, using a pipet to give it a couple drops of water, the group gathering around to watch the experiment.
Oscar sniffed around the thing, inspecting it before thin tentacles suddenly sprouted, violently grabbing hold of his face.
"Jeez..." Casey winced.
The creature slithered its way into Oscar's ear, and Zeke opened the cage door, somberly grabbing the rat, "Sorry, buddy."
He snapped its neck with a sickening crack, Delilah flinching at the noise.
And after some dissecting, he pulled the creature out from between the poor thing's organs.
"It's a parasite. It attaches itself to a host, and then it controls it," Zeke deduced, placing it under the microscope and slicing it open with a scalpel, "It's incomplete."
"What do you mean?" you asked, confused.
"It can survive on its own, but it's really part of a greater organism. It has the ability to replicate but it needs a host. Something moist," he turned back over to the rat, using his knife to point, "See what it did to Oscar's insides. It dried them out."
