—My everything hurts...

...I feel so sore all over my body, it's a soreness that I've never felt before in my life. It hurt so bad that I wanted to yell, but I didn't have a mouth to yell with.

"Wakey, wakey..."

I heard a voice call out to me. It was so familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. However, I heard the voice again.

"Time to wake up~"

And that's when my eyes shot open and I sat up in the seat I was laying in.

"W...where...?"

"Where am I?"

This place was all too familiar. The very desk I woke up in when I was forced into that killing game.

My mind was still racing with thoughts from what only seemed like a couple hours ago. I...I was executed!

Yes, that's right...I died. That bear, he hung me for hours!

Am I really back? Am I really even alive right now, or am I reliving the final days of my life over again in some eternal limbo hell.

Either option didn't sound fun.

Before I could make any moves, an intercom pierced my ears from the ceiling of the classroom. "Kaede Akamatsu! Welcome back to Hope's Peak Academy! Hopefully you missed us as much as we missed you."

That voice. It didn't belong to the devilish bear, but it belonged to a person that I considered a close friend.

"Tsumugi?" I got out of the chair, my legs a bit wobbly, but I found my footing anyway.

What was Tsumugi doing here of all places? And what was she talking about? Saying stuff like 'welcome back'? Doesn't she remember what this place is?

"Mosey on down to the gymnasium for what our buddy Monokuma would call a mandatory meeting! Can't wait to see you there~"

And with that, the intercom shut off.

Fear.

That was the best (and shortest) way to describe what I felt. Genuine fear.

She mentioned Monokuma so casually, like he was one of our friends or something. That couldn't have been further from the truth, Monokuma was a demon that probably wasn't friends with anyone.

"What is going on?" My voice started to tremble a bit.

Was I scared? I didn't even know anymore. Quite literally nothing made sense anymore.

I looked around the room, noticing that everything is exactly in place like it was the first time. "I have to get out of here."

Just standing in this room any longer made me feel sick, I needed fresh air. I started for the door, placing my hand on the knob and twisted a bit aggressively.
