So, it's been two years since my last update and I know most of you guys think this story was abandoned. I don't blame you – life has really taken a turn for the worse for me and I haven't been able to relax all that much (school and work clashes). Please read the author's note at the end of the chapter for more details.

Chapter 14

" Wakey wakey Hikaru~this is your resident Other sponsored wake up alarm just for you!"

"Gahhh!"

While the early hours of the morning are typically associated with peaceful tranquility, Hikaru could honestly say that feeling someone literally poke at his brain with red hot fingers was anything but that. Getting all tangled up in his blankets in a blind panic, he had a few minutes of fumbling before coming to and groaning in annoyance.

'Look, I know you love to play the part of the evil repressed monster in my psyche but this is too far – we share this body and keeping it from being fully rested has got to be unproductive, even for you.' Hikaru thought as he ran a hand through his sweaty locks with an exhausted sigh.

'Ah, while that may be true, I couldn't let you miss the opportunity to talk to someone special...' Other H snickered as Hikaru grumbled profanities under his breath.

"Someone special he says...who even wakes up at this ungodly hour?" He said as he got up and looked over the couch...

...and immediately saw Yuito looking at him askance, the guy having just left the bathroom after a short pee break just to catch the tail end of Hikaru's monologue.

"You okay there Hikaru? You look like you had a rough night?" Yuito asked as the other man huffed his assent.

"Oh, I had a normal night, just had a weird wakeup call is all..." Hikaru said as Yuito looked longingly towards his bedroom before sucking it up and turning to face him properly.

"Wanna talk about it? It feels like we haven't had much time to talk after the fiasco with Majo-Karen. The whole thing with Karen I mean." Yuito said after correcting himself for adding titles to the name of a state traitor and terrorist.

"It's okay to ask but really – I just woke up the wrong way is all. You should head back to bed – you look like sleep is calling your name and I can just have an early morning gaming session before the platoon heads out for the day." Hikaru said as he noticed Yuito's eyes were drooping as he was talking.

"Well alright... but if something comes up, I am always ready to talk." Yuito said as he made his way to the couch after giving Hikaru a reassuring look.

'That guy's a regular bleeding heart sacrificing his Z's fir little old me~'

'Oh yeah, the way he lays his soul out in the open for someone to trample on it is just so delicious...'

'Okay, dial it back now. That's just creepy and out of line. Remember who's in charge of this body.'
