Chapter 9- Questions and Answers

Adeel's pov:

I got ready in my grey suit and Mariam came and sat on the bed, she was wearing a yellow dress with a white scarf around her neck, though I hope she starts covering soon.

"I'm so happy, she would be amazing" she squealed, just by listening to the description I gave her about Khadija she was very happy and excited.

We finally got in the car and Mom reminded Ibrahim to be on his best behavior.

After 15 minutes we reached their house.

Khadija's pov:

"You look so pretty mashaAllah" Mom said and then the bell rang

"They are here" dad shouted

"Be ready I will be here in 15 minutes" Mom said

"I quickly grabbed the paper on which I had prepared the questions and sat waiting on my bed"

After 15 minutes I walked out in front of their family.
I am so nervous.

"Assalamualaikum" I greeted in a timid voice

"Walaikumasalam" they all answered and then I sat near aunty.

I recognized him from the supermarket. How did he even find me?
Oh Allah. This is going to be awkward.

Adeel's pov:

She looked amazing in her navy blue dress with a black hijab, she didn't wear her veil, so I stole a glance. She looked very pretty MashaAllah

After 30 minutes my Dad finally said "You kids can go and talk and Yaqub please accompany them."

And then we went and sat into a room, with Yaqub sitting near us on the bed.

"Assalamualikum. How are you" I asked

"Walaikumasalam. I am fine Alhmadulillah. How are you?" she asked in her sweet voice

"Alhamduillah" I answered

"I'm sure you must have recognized me from the supermarket, right?" I asked

She looked down and answered "Yes, I did, how did you...?"

"Well...I followed you. Please dont think of me as a crazy stalker, but I just liked you and I..."

She smiled and nodded.

We kept quiet and I decided to break the silence

"So should we begin?" I asked

"Huh, yes, you go first" she said

"Okay, do you pray 5 times daily and read Quran" I asked

"Yes I do try to be regular, Alhamdulillah" she answered

"Okay, that's it" I said

"What? But i have many of them" she said nervously

"It's okay, go ahead" I encouraged

"Do you pray and read Quran?" she asked

"Yes I do and I try to read Quran on a daily basis and I still am trying" I answered

"Will you have any problem with me working after marriage?" she asked

"I would want you to spend some time but otherwise I won't have any problem. Everyone deserves to do whatever they want to" I answered honestly,

"Will you have a problem with me staying at my home sometimes?" she asked

"No "I answered

"Did you have any relationships in past?" she asked

"No" I answered "What about you?"

"No!" she answered and then she continued after a small pause "What made you interested in me?"

"It's your pure character and clean intentions and heart and you have all the qualities I would want in my wife, so you are an ideal idea of how I would want my wife to be, and when I first saw you, I saw all these qualities in you" I answered

She blushed and smiled at this and then she said "I might get angry because of my short temper, sometimes, not all the time but I do get angry, so will you be patient with me and try to cool me off?" she asked

"Yes, of course InshaAllah, i will try my best to" I answered

"Okay" she answered "If I have any more questions, can i ask you later?" she asked

"Of course, you can through mail" I answered, gave her my id and then we stood up and got out of the room and Yaqub followed us out.

Her mom came and took her back inside again and my dad took me to the other side where my mom was standing and they asked "What do you think"

"Yes, she is amazing" I answered.

"Now let's see what she says" Mom said curiously.

A while later she came out with her mom.

Khadija's pov:

"What is your answer. No pressure okay!, Please be honest" Mom said

"Umm..it's a yes" I answered shyly and blushed

"Alhamdulillah, come on let's go and tell them" she said

And then we sat and I could sense Adeel's nervousness.

Mom said "It is a yes from Khadija" and a huge smile appeared on adeel's face and all the nervousness flew out of the window.

MashaAllah and Alhamdulillah voices spread through the room and then we fixed a meeting for me and Adeel the following week Friday and so after 40 minutes they left and I already love his family specially Mariam, she is very sweet and kind. "I would love to see you as my sis-in-law" she said as she waved goodbye and I smiled at this.

I went back to my room and thought about our conversation, it was amazing, he will keep me happy, I know that and I'm so happy that my Istikhaara was right, through my Istikhaara I got to know that this marriage will work InshaAllah and then I drifted off to sleep.

Adeel's pov:

"I'm so happy that she said yes, Alhamdulillah, I offered two shukrana rakat and thanked Allah.

My family was very happy today. To celebrate Mariam made brownies and after having them they all went to sleep and after 30 minutes of thinking about the day, I slept too.
