The car pulled up to the orphanage. Inside, were a boy and a girl. The car door opened to westera orphanage. Who came out was Jade and Joseph. "Let's go find Jay!" Jade said, the only priority. She ran in, wanting to see Jay. Joseph stood there, just looking at the place. He had all of the luggage in his hands, for some reason, he looked up, and he saw him, a man in a suit looking down straight at him, he was tall, maybe 6'4, the suit was white with a black button-down shirt and a white tie, his hair was slicked back. Not to mention he was of Hispanic descent. When the man noticed Joseph looking at him, he turns around and walks away.
Joseph, seeing this was confused. And just walked into the orphanage. *TIME SKIP, 3 WEEKS. *
Joseph was on the phone with his father.
"Dad, we searched this place top to bottom, Jay is gone. The people have been looking at me and Jade funny, specifically "Mama" "Papa" And the caretakers." Joseph said.
"The food taste awful, the place smells different, the other kids talk about dumb stuff like monsters, or legends of horrifying beasts going to the orphanage. It's actually scary. I always feel like I'm being watched or something, the main caretaker Bella freaks me out all the time!" Joseph said again.
"I understand all of that, and how you feel. I know Jay will turn up, there is no way he would just abandon us. Also, for the rest of that, I went through very similar things pertaining to that. You get over it."
*They started trying to change the subject to johnny's injury recovery, he was recovering quite well, he slowly started being able to move his other arm.
***THE NEXT DAY***
*Joseph woke up, Jade was sleeping on his floor, she was still scared of being alone. Joseph got out of the bed, putting some pajama pants on, walking out to eat their horrible food. He got in line of the people, and saw a 4-year-old boy, talking to an 11-year-old girl. The little boy asked a simple question. "You want to be friends miss?" And in turn, the 11-year-old, slapped him?? Why though? "Get the fuck away from me you piece of cat shit!" Joseph conjured up a plan to get back at her for that, he waited in line, it took 20 minutes. It was finally his turn. He put his empty tray on the counter, they put pancakes and sausage on the tray, the pancakes were soggy feeling, the sausage was odd. Joseph grabbed the syrup, and poured it on the pancakes, he tripped over someone's "foot" and poured a whole bunch of syrup on the 11-year-old girl's hair.
".... What the fuck are you doing!!" The girl asked, throwing a punch at Joseph, it hit him so hard, he fell to the ground, holding his cheek.
"My bad!!" Joseph got up, backing up from the girl, the syrup in her hair was so goopy, so slimy, so sticky, it was almost funny. Joseph chuckled a little, that set the girl off, and she ran after him. Jospeh ran away, taking turns he never took before, he ran into an area, * punishment area. * He then ran into a brick wall. It was Caretaker Bella; she was glaring at the two of them. "What are you Two doing here?" She looked furious, she picked both of them up by their collars, one kid in each hand, she carried them over to Mama. She sat them down in front of her, she was blonde, maybe 5'11, she had a black mask with a white cat design on it. She asks a simple question. "What happened here?" Suddenly, the girl started sweating, why was she so scared? Why did she start shaking? Joseph looked at her, she then said "I-I-I-I- I chased him because he poured syrup in my hair." She started to tear up having a tear come out of her left eye. "Is this true Joseph?" She asked him. "Yeah, but the only reason I did that is because she slapped a 4-year-old, just because he asked to be friends!" Mama then turned to the girl. "Marilyn, is this true?" Marilyn looked down, tears were fully coming down her face and dripping onto the floor. "Y-Y-Y-Yes...."
"Joseph, you can leave now." Mama said. "Wait, don't leave me! I'm sorry for punching you but please don't go!" Joseph started walking away, he heard a slap, he didn't turn around, he heard another slap, and another, and another, and another and another, Marilyn was sobbing and screaming. She was hitting her. Is she allowed to do that? Jason thought while walking away.
Chapter 4 - End
Chapter 5 - Up at night.
Joseph couldn't believe what he saw last week, It moved him, made him wary of the place even more. He watched his back every time he walked, he was terrified. We turn to Jade, she was walking over to the food stand, happy to eat again, she couldn't get Jason out of her head.
She got a tray that consists of, A mystery meat burger, soggy steak fries and a mystery red liquid, looks like Kool-Aid, but tastes nothing like it. She sat down, alone. Taking a big bite out of the burger, before lifting the bun, putting some steak fries on the patty and putting the bun back on top. She was making the most of her meal, when she saw a head peaking out at her behind a corner.
She got up, walking over to it, past all the people who didn't see it. The head went back, further into the hallway. Jade followed, seeing a shadow body. It was of a boy she didn't know. Floating in the air. Jade wiped her eyes. She walked over to the shadow, putting her hand on it, but her hand went through. it was as if she was putting her hand in a smoke cloud, as the shadow disappeared. Jade was confuddled at this, wondering what she just saw, she decided to call her dad, still in the room.
*Bzzt* *Bzzt* *Bzzt*
"Hello?" Johnny said groggily.
"Dad, I've got to tell you something that you might not believe, but I've got to tell someone, or I'll go crazy-" Jade got cut off
"Jade, what is it?" Johnny asked.
"I saw a shadow person." Jade said.
"what- what??" Johnny said.
"I saw a shadow person just now dad!" Jade said, confused and frankly scared.
"Oh, shadow of who?" Johnny said, unusually calm.
"I didn't expect you to believe me, but I don't know who it was." Jade said, calming down from her father's voice.
