( chapter six. 🥂 )
hoodie stealerTHE NEXT MORNING, ROWAN WOKE UP COMFY ON HER LIVING ROOM COUCH. she looked around for walker only to find him talking happily to her mom.
"morning row." her mom greeted, smiling at her. rowan simply sits down at the counter and laid her head down. "i'll make some breakfast."
someone sat beside her and she lifts her head up to see walker smiling at her. she smiled back at him, reaching and running her hands through his tight blond curls. "row, you have a soccer game again today. it's in two hours so eat quickly."
the brunette girl nodded her head, groaning as she stretched out her muscles and lets out a yawn. "should've woken me up sooner." she mumbled, groggily staring out in the distance.
walker laughs, eating his cereal. his childhood friend gave him a glare, squinting her eyes at him. "enjoying that cereal, scobell?" she asked.
"yeah, i am actually."
rowan sighed as her mom slid her a bowl of cereal herself. "don't say a word." she told walker, noticing that he was trying so hard not to laugh.
rowan, her family and walker stood outside in the cold once again. the girl wore one of walkers hoodie since she was rushing to get out of the house. "god, it's always so cold and for what?" she sighed, pulling the sleeves of walker's hoodie in her hands.
"you know, i would've offered you a hoodie but looks like you already got one." he said, a smile on his face while he nudged her arm. the corner of her mouth lifts up in a small smile, rolling her eyes playfully. "hoodie stealer."
the night before, the conversation with cameron still hadn't left walker's mind. was there a chance that rowan liked him back? he was snapped back to reality when rowan's soccer coach blew her whistle and her team ran to her.
"well, i gotta go. i'll score a goal just for you walkie talkie." she teased, poking his arm. walker's cheeks went red and rowan ran away. walker's lover state got cut when cameron wrapped an arm around him.
"you look like a tomato walks."
"shut up cam."
during the game, cameron continued to tease the poor 15 year old boy about his sister. "so, my sister." he points at the girl that was playing on the field.
"yeah, i know her." walker pressed his lips into a thin line, nodding his head. he tried to stop the visible blush on his cheeks but i guess he couldn't control that at all. he just had to deal with cameron's teasing. "what about rowan?"
cameron rolled his eyes. "come on, you know what."
"sure." he trailed off, watching the game. cameron snapped his fingers in front of his face and walker groaned, looking at cameron with a confused face. "do we really have to talk about her now?"
"yes! now! she's not here and she's always around you. this is the perfect time." cameron complained. "now, when are you going to tell her that you hots for her or am i going to tell her for you?"
walker's face scrunched up at his choice of words, furrowing his eyebrows at the boy. "the hots for her? are you okay? did you eat something you weren't supposed to?"
"no? what— we're getting off topic here."cameron then points at his little sister on the field. "when are you going to make a move on her? it has to happen soon you know."
"why soon?"
"are you stupid?" cameron deadpanned.
"just a little."
"she's going to grow up, boys are going to start liking her and she's going to get a boyfriend that isn't you." he explained, watching walker's face fall at the mention of rowan getting a boyfriend. "come on, don't you want rowan's older brother to be happy?"
"um, i'll consider your opinion." walker mumbled, pushing his arm off of him and watched rowan celebrate their victory with a lovestruck expression.
