Braelyn found solace within the confines of her chamber, enveloped in the company of her books, nestled by the window where sunlight streamed in softly. The serenity of her room mirrored her inner calm, each corner exuding tidiness and tranquility. With a delicate grace, she twirled her chair while engrossed in her reading, her golden brown locks cascading around her, perfectly complementing her eyes that shimmered with a matching hue.

In the absence of her mother, likely preoccupied with the duties beyond their home, Braelyn inhabited her sanctuary alone. Her bed, devoid of plush companionship, echoed the solitude she often found herself in.

As daylight lingered outside, casting warm hues into her room, Braelyn succumbed to the weariness tugging at her eyelids. With a gentle sigh, she set her book aside, the tales within still dancing in her mind. The sun's caress kissed her skin tenderly as she nestled into her bed, her eyelids closing in anticipation of dreams that mirrored the worlds she explored within her cherished books. In that moment, she yearned for the lines between reality and fantasy to blur, wishing to awaken to a life as enchanting as the stories that filled her imagination.

After sleeping, Braelyn slowly walk to their kitchen when she feels hungry, it seems like dinner had past already, and her mother hasn't come back yet. She starts searching for food but only a piece of bread was in there. She grabbed and eat it, wondering why her mother still has not returned.

Braelyn felt tempted to open the door and feel the texture outside the house everytime she's left alone, but afraid to disobey her mother as she would be punished. She behaved herself on the couch and grabbed another book to read. Hoping it'll make the time run fast, she hates to be alone for so long, the loneliness inside the dim house couldn't prevent her from feeling sad and wishing someone was there to accompany her when times like this happens.

After rousing from her slumber, Braelyn's footsteps echoed softly as she made her way to the kitchen, her stomach grumbling with hunger. The passage of time hinted that dinner had come and gone, yet her mother had not returned. With a sense of unease creeping in, Braelyn rummaged through the sparse contents of the kitchen, finding only a solitary piece of bread to quell her hunger. She nibbled on it, her thoughts drifting to her absent mother

As the evening shadows deepened, Braelyn's yearning to step beyond the threshold intensified. The allure of the unknown textures outside the house beckoned once more. Yet, the fear of disobedience and the potential consequences held her captive, tethering her to the dimly lit abode. Restraining herself, she returned to the couch, seeking solace in the company of another book, hoping its tales would act as a balm to the passing time.

As the pages turned, the minutes crawled by, and the dimness of the house accentuated the loneliness that enveloped Braelyn. The yearning for companionship persisted, casting a shadow over her quiet moments. She couldn't escape the melancholy, the wish lingering in her heart for someone to share the solitude and bring warmth to the vacant spaces left by her mother's absence.

After a stretch of solitude, a familiar voice sliced through the silence, calling out to Braelyn.

"Brae!~"

Startled yet relieved, Braelyn rose from her place on the couch as the door creaked open, revealing her mother, Shaba, bearing bags of food.

"Mother!" Braelyn exclaimed, rushing forward to envelop her in a tight embrace. "Where have you been? I've been worried sick," she confessed, her voice tinged with longing for her mother's presence.

Shaba chuckled softly, gently patting Braelyn's back. "Oh, my dear Brae, fret not. I've only been away for a little while, just a small adventure," she reassured, her words carrying a hint of amusement. "And trust me, the outside world isn't as exciting as you imagine. It's rather mundane out there."

Braelyn's smile faltered at her mother's words, the allure of the outside world dimming in her mind as she absorbed Shaba's perspective.

"I'm hungry, Mother," Braelyn interjected, steering the conversation away from her mother's adventures, her stomach rumbling in protest.

"Patience, my sweetheart. The food won't cook itself," she teased gently. "Why don't you find something to occupy yourself while you wait?"

Braelyn sighed, her heart heavy with a mix of emotions. "Alright, Mother," she acquiesced, her tone tinged with lingering sadness as she contemplated the passing moments and the longing for companionship that still lingered within her.

While waiting for her mother to cook, Braelyn went back to her room, sat next to the window and looking through the window, the shimmering stars keeps catching her attention. Making her sing a song again.

In a quiet house, far from city lights,
Locked away, dreaming through lonely nights.
Yearning to meet faces, voices to hear,
But I'm confined, my heart heavy with fear.

Surrounded by lights in the distance so bright,
Different houses and buildings, a dazzling sight.
Yet I'm trapped in this silence, a solitary song,
Longing to belong, but it feels so wrong.

I want to meet people, dance in the glow,
Where laughter echoes, and friendships grow.
But here in this house, I'm lost in despair,
Yearning for connections, a heart laid bare.

Through the window, I glimpse a world unknown,
Echoes of laughter, a symphony of my own.
Imprisoned by walls, I can't break free,
Loneliness wraps around, tightening its plea.

City lights twinkle, a distant embrace,
Different homes, each with its unique grace.
Yet here in isolation, I stand apart,
A captive soul, craving a fresh start.

I want to meet people, dance in the glow,
Where laughter echoes, and friendships grow.
But here in this house, I'm lost in despair,
Yearning for connections, a heart laid bare.

Windows of opportunity, just out of reach,
Aching to break free, to learn and to teach.
Yearning for connections, a lifeline to find,
In this solitude, my soul's confined.

City lights flicker, a beacon so near,
Yet I'm shackled inside, shedding a tear.
A chorus of voices, a vibrant array,
But my voice is muted, lost in dismay.

As the lights twinkle, a dream unfulfilled,
Locked away, my spirit stilled.
Hoping for a day when the doors swing wide,
To the city's embrace, where my heart will reside.
