Sergi Roberto POV
The next morning I started packing my clothes to prepare for the trip to America. My least favorite part of traveling was always packing. I never knew how much to pack since we would be there for a month for the ICC (International Champions Cup). Our first game is against Fiorentina. Although packing is a struggle, the thought of me going to America is very exciting. I've been there before but every time is different and there's so many things to see. I think my other teammates would agree because most of them travel there during break after and between the seasons.
I wasn't looking forward to facing Rosa. It was not like I had done anything wrong but when she's there, she'll be with her father, so she wouldn't be as easy to talk to. And I completely understand that. It's just that I've thought a lot about what Marc said before I went to bed. I had only met this girl yesterday and it seemed like I had my whole life with her planned out.
As nice as that sounds, I have bigger things to worry about right now. My job makes it complicated for me to have room for relationships. Most of my relationships failed because I was so busy most of the time. So I decided to stay out of relationships for awhile. But when I saw Rosa, everything changed. I mean I know I had only had a glance at her before training, but there was just something about her, as corny as that sounds. But for right now, I need to focus on myself and what I do best, playing soccer/futbol.
Marc came by to pick me up. We usually take turns to pick each other up when we have to travel.
When the doorbell rang, I went to open the door to an unhappy Marc.
"Why the long face, my friend," I asked with a bright smile, almost laughing.
"Nothing is funny Sergi. I heard you went out with that girl," he said sternly.
"Wow, sorry dad. It won't happen again, trust me. I just wanted to take her out. Show her around the city, nothing more. I thought about what you said last night. I do need to think about myself. I don't want to get hurt again. This job makes it hard for me to be in a steady relationship. It makes it even worse to have a relationship with the coaches daughter," I said feeling a little guilty.
He patted me on the shoulder, "Hey, it's fine. I didn't know what was going on yesterday until I got a text from Dani (Alves). He saw you two at the restaurant."
I shook my head and laughed, "Leave it to the Brazilians to be the personal, nosey messengers."
"Well we better get going. We have a big day ahead of us," he said.
"It's sad that we decided to wear suits today but, whatever makes the lady's happy," I said with a smirk. Marc rolled his eyes in response.
After loading my suitcase in his trunk, we drove off to Qatar Airlines, where we met up with the rest of the team. I spotted Dani and once we made eye contact, he ran over to me with Neymar.
He punched me in the shoulder playfully, "You sly dog, you," Dani said laughing hysterically.
"Who knew Sergi was looking for a relationship again? I guess you really don't want playing time this season," Neymar said with a grin.
Before I could slap him, I was interrupted by none other than Rosa. She looked absolutely stunning. She was wearing a sleeveless white blouse with a blazer on top with skinny dress pants and her hair was wavy today. After I looked at her up and down I noticed Neymar and Dani trying to suppress their big smiles.
"Hey Sergi! You look really nice today," she said with a bright smile.
"Thanks! Saying you look amazing would be an understatement. You look fantastic," I said returning a smile.
