Lute had another nightmare of the other day when Adam was killed and she had to rip her own arm off in the battle between them and Lucifer. She awakens in the command center of the Exterminators, as she had fallen asleep in Adam's chair.

"Are you okay Lieutenant commander?" Lute hears the voice of another angel. the heavenly librarian named Y/N. He has short brown hair and wears a white and gold robe. His job is to document everything the Exterminators do while down in Hell.

He looks at Lute with a concerned expression, his wings carrying him over to where she is sitting. Lute nods, rubbing her eyes as she regains her composure, trying to forget the horrifying images from her dream. She stands up, stretching her arm overhead before responding, "I am fine, thank you Y/N. Just a bit tired."

She glances around the dimly lit room, noticing Adam still absent. Her thoughts drift back to the worry plaguing her; something wasn't right. Adam never missed an Extermination nor did he fail to report afterward. A sense of unease fills her chest as she decides to find him as soon as possible.

Without further ado, Lute leaves the command center, heading deeper into the halls of their Heavenly home. Y/N grabs her by her arm and pulls her back. "Lieutenant... Adam is gone... And you lost your arm. Don't you remember?"He looks at her with pity in his eyes.

The reality of her dream crashes down upon her once again, sending shockwaves through her system. Lute pushes Y/N away, looking into his sympathetic eyes with anger and confusion. How could she forget such traumatic events? But yet, it seems as though they were merely fragments of a twisted fantasy.

Feeling vulnerable and off-balance, Lute clenches her fist tightly, determination etched onto her face. "I must find Adam," she states firmly, starting to walk briskly towards the entrance of the command center before she raises her hand and opens a portal to Hell. She cannot afford distractions or self-doubt now; there is a mission to complete and an unknown threat looming over both Heaven and Hell. She puts on her mask, her golden irises gleaming underneath as she enters the portal, stepping foot back into the fiery realm of destruction known as the Pride Ring. It's time for business.

Y/N, out of worry, quickly follows her. He's no warrior so he must tread carefully and avoid any of the demons here. He flies around in a panic looking for Lute. "Lieutenant!"He calls out into the red skies of Hell. His worry is ever growing as he cannot find her.

Amidst the chaos of the sinners and hellborn demons around her,, Lute hears Y/N's frantic calls echoing throughout the Pride Ring. She stops momentarily, tilting her head slightly in annoyance before resuming her search for Adam. She trusts her abilities as an Exorcist and knows she can handle any threats that come her way, but Y/N's presence serves as a reminder of the delicate situation they currently find themselves in, and knowing his less than stellar affinity for combat she decides to find him.

As Lute navigates through the smoke and ash, she catches sight of Y/N flying overhead. With a sigh, she waves him down. Landing gracefully beside her, he can see the disillusion in her eyes. "We have work to do, Y/N. Please stay close and focused. We need to locate Adam and ensure our mission proceeds smoothly." Her tone remains stern, hiding any hint of concern or vulnerability that might compromise their position in this treacherous land.

Y/N grabs her arm again and for the first time since they've met he sounds dead serious. "Lute! Adam is dead! He died when you and him attacked Charlie Morningstar's hotel the other day, where you also lost your arm. So please... Just let me take you home" He pleads with Lute to snap out of it.

Disbelief and denial consume Lute as Y/N reveals the devastating news. This couldn't be true; she refuses to accept it. Shaking her head vigorously, she shrugs off Y/N's grasp, feeling numb all over. If Adam is really gone, then what does that mean for their mission and their future? Was there truly nothing she could have done to prevent this fate?
