"Umm..." Sunshine tries to think of what she was going to say to the weeping figure. She was creepy enough as it is. VERY creepy. It was hard, being a child and living with something that gave her the most anxiety. Sunshine tried anyway. Her father would be proud of her courage. "D-Don't cry! The moon is very pretty!!" Sunshine feared that if she made any physical contact with her mother, then she would try to kill her.

Sniffing and continuing to hide her face, the beast made a sad statement. "Neither the moon nor any other light should shine upon my face... I belong in the ominous dark like every other monster should. I'm... I'm..." And with that, little pudgy arms surrounded her skinny torso. Unknowing what this was, the woman slides her skeleton fingers away from her eyes to see little Sunshine embracing her.
Gasping, she covers her mouth in pure shock, becoming paralyzed by the unconditional love.

After what seemed to be a minute or two, the girl lets go with a small, tense grin. Seeing the amazed expression on her mother's face made her feel proud of herself for facing her own dread. "Mommy..." She takes a bony hand in the dark, and begins to step backwards. Into the light. "You're not a monster..." Sunshine began to quiver, bringing her mother into the illuminated side.

It was... purely sickening!

The more the daughter stepped back, the more disfigurement came about. The monster had barely any hair, only a few static locks here and there. She had a very large, stitched on nose, clearly not her own. A part of her mouth was gone to only leave bare, fleshy teeth showing. The left cheek was missing to only reveal more flesh. On the right side, scars and stitches marked their territory. One last noticeable characteristic that Sunshine had not seen was that one of her mother's left eye was completely blind.

It frightened Sunshine completely as she brought the horrific creature to the light side of her bed, but she did her best to never lose eye contact with her. Sitting upon the clothed mattress, Sunshine took her mother's hands into her own. "Mommy... Mommy don't be sad that you look different..."

The mother pursed the the small fraction of the lips she still bared, and shook her head 'no.' The moon from outside seemed to reflect the dirty brown tear stains on her face to a further extend. "I wish I didn't die, baby girl. Mommy wouldn't look like a monster... and..." She began to choke on her own tears. "And you and Daddy wouldn't run away from me!"

Sunshine's eyes grew wider and wider with every moment she felt pity. Biting her bottom lip, the girl scooted closer to the devil's creation, lifts herself off the bed and into the lap of her Mother. More shock overwhelmed her as she looked down at her little baby girl. "Baby... but you... how..."

"Mommy, I love you... if there really were any monsters... they be long dead after they met up with you..." Sunshine snuggles into the deadly, rotten rib cage. "You made all of them go away... and now I feel less afraid... but... I want you to stay here so they don't come back..." The girl looks up and winks in the darkness.

"Baby... oh my sweet princess. .. of course I will stay with you!" Replies the death rattle, cooing and cradling her little chubby bundle of joy. Dirty tears continued to flow down her cheeks, but they were of happiness.

The wind outside brustles through the the plants, the moon being the blessing to melt any bad dream and to mend two hearts back into harmony.
