Hey, my name is Gabby, but everyone calls me Gabs. I’m 15, and my world is a mix of friends, family, and a bit of chaos. My best friend’s name is Malasai. We’ve been inseparable since birth because our parents were best friends long before we were born. We’ve shared everything from our first words to our first heartbreaks, and I can’t imagine life without her. Malasai has a sister named Maxine, though we all call her Max. Max is just as much a part of my life as Malasai is, and the three of us are like the three musketeers, always looking out for each other.

Then there’s my sister, Nala. Two years ago, she came out as a lesbian, and it was one of the bravest things I’ve ever seen. I’ve always admired Nala for her courage and authenticity. She started dating Alas last year, and they’re perfect together. Alas is not only gorgeous, but she treats my sister with so much love and respect. Seeing them together makes me happy because I know Nala is with someone who truly cares about her.

Family is everything to me, even if it’s a bit complicated. My mom, Reagan, is married to my stepdad, Leo, who I call Dad. He’s been in my life for as long as I can remember, and I couldn’t ask for a better father figure. My biological dad, Ty, is still very much in the picture too. He’s married to my stepmom, Madeline. It might sound confusing, but it works for us. Everyone gets along, and we make it work, even if it means splitting holidays or doubling up on birthday celebrations.

Speaking of birthdays, mine is coming up on October 23rd. That makes me a Libra, which probably explains why I’m always striving for balance in my life. Being born so close to Halloween, I’ve always had a deep love for all things spooky. Haunted houses, ghost stories, you name it—I’m there. My favorite YouTubers are Sam and Colby because they’re all about exploring haunted places, and I can’t get enough of their videos.

But there’s one person who makes my heart race even more than a good ghost story—my boyfriend, Su-Byeok. We’ve been dating since October 25, 2021, and I honestly believe he’s the only one for me. Su-Byeok is smart, kind, and has this quiet confidence that I find irresistible. It’s funny because his name is so close to a character in a series I watched, All of Us Are Dead. That character, Lee Su-Hyeok, was a total heartthrob, but Su-Byeok is even better because he’s real, and he’s mine.

He turned 16 last month, and I’m almost there too. We’re both really into ghost hunting, which is just one of the many things that make us such a great match. Whether we’re exploring an abandoned building or just hanging out, I always feel safe with him. I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life—I believe he’s the only one for me.
