CHAPTER 22

Y/N'S POV

We head to the home. As I looked around, I was reminded of all the times I had been here in the last few years. They were good yet bad memories.

Yeonjun wasn't home since he was seeing a psychiatrist. He must have been dealing with a lot. I looked over to Soo-ah who wasn't leaving Soobin's side for a minute. She looked much happier here than she was in The States.

Soobin showed Soo-ah around and she was mesmerized by almost everything. She came running towards me and sat on my lap.

Soo-ah : Mama, this is a great place.

Y/N : Do you love here?

Soo-ah : I do. It's much better than being in that small house.

Beomgyu : Now that you are here, have you forgotten me, little one?

Soo-ah : Soob uncle plays with me and he gave me so many things to eat. You always scold me for eating fast food.

Beomgyu glared over to Soobin was eating his cheese bread.

Soobin : What? Am I not even supposed to treat my niece?

I chuckled at how childish they were being. The door suddenly opened and there came Taehyun with a bag.

Beomgyu : What is this ?

Taehyun : It's for the little baby.

Kai : We spent a lot on it. Soo-ah, look at these. These are for you.

She bounced off my lap and ran towards Taehyun and Kai. They opened the bag and showed the bunch of toys to Soo-ah. She shouted in surprise.

Soo-ah : Are these for me?

Tae nodded.

Soo-ah : Thank you so so so much uncles.

Time flew by. They all laughed and joked throughout. I felt pleased with the decision that Beomgyu and I had come to so far. In the States, we had not seen Soo-ah smiling like this. Perhaps she didn't make many friends there, or perhaps she likes the company she gets from people here.

Beomgyu sat across me and smiled at them as me. He suddenly sighed and looked at me.

Beomgyu : Till now, it's going all good. But when Yeonjun comes, do you think it will be the same then?

Y/N : I honestly don't know Beomgyu. But I feel happy seeing her being this comfortable with the boys.

Beomgyu : I feel good too. But honestly, there's a fear inside me regarding Yeonjun.

Y/N : Talking of him, when is he coming back?

Beomgyu : I don't know. It's past 7. He must be here any time.

Y/N : I feel nervous.

He kept his hand on mine and gave me a reassuring smile.

Beomgyu : It's okay. I'm here. Even the boys are here too. We'll not let Yeonjun harm you or Soo-ah.

Y/N : Thanks Beomgyu for all you've done till now. No matter how much I appreciate you, you are doing more than that.

Beomgyu : You don't have to. You both are my responsibilities and I had to take care. It's nothing to be honest.

I smiled.

Suddenly, a burst of light appeared outside the window. I feel a little more anxious now.

Beomgyu : Must be Yeonjun.

I'm finally going to see him after a long time. I have no idea how he will act or how he feels after seeing me and his daughter in this situation.

The main entryway opened in a moment, displaying the man I was frightened to meet yet missed. He discreetly stood there and looked around. The sight of the little girl perched on Soobin's shoulder caused his eyes to flutter. His dark, enraged-looking eyes softened and he parted his lips as if he was going to say anything the moment his eyes met mine.

He ran over to me and gave me a strong hug, keeping me from saying anything. The embrace lasted too long, and I could hear others scoffing now. He parted away, and then all of a sudden, his lips contacted mine. My pupils expanded as I turned to face Soobin, who was covering Soo-ah's eyes. Beomgyu was standing there with a frown on his face.

He parted away and cupped my face with his hands.

Yeonjun : I missed you Y/N. You didn't even contact me when you were there. Were you afraid of me this much? Do you hate me now? I missed you a lot Y/N. I really did.

Y/N : I did too Yeonjun.

My eyes softened as a tear rolled down Yeonjun's face. I have never seen him like this before. Maybe, he regrets his doings. Maybe.

He looked over at the little girl and looked at me again.

Yeonjun : Who's that girl, Y/N? Did she come with you?

Y/N : Yeonjun, actually-

I gulped as the words were struck on my tongue when suddenly Beomgyu spoke.

Beomgyu : She is your daughter, brother.
