I'm Wasting My Time

Today Louis and Harry walked into the recording studio prepared to get a bunch of shit from their management, but thankfully the first people they saw were Liam, Niall, and Zayn.

"Hey lads," Zayn greeted. Harry and Louis waved back.

"So, what are you guys going to do? You know, about management? They seemed pretty pissed earlier and I can only assume it's about you two," Liam said.

"Yeah, we kind of pissed them off yesterday morning," Louis told them carefully.

Zayn gave him a look, "You just got back and the first thing you do is piss him off?"

"In my defense, he called me in the morning and disrupted my sleep so I already wasn't in the best of moods and then he started getting on my case for not being a good enough actor around Eleanor. I don't know how he expects me to pretend to be happy when I'm away from Harry," Louis pouts. He sees Harry try (and fail) to hide a smile. He eventually gives up and gives Louis a quick peck on the lips and wraps an arm around him.

"Well it's a good thing that there's a high chance that we won't have to be separated like that again," Harry smiles.

"Wait, they're letting you come out?!" Niall asks excitedly.

"No," Louis sighs, "But I argued with him saying that I can't even pretend to be happy if I am away from Harry so the farthest he can go and hope to be successful is to make pretend to date Eleanor."

"Well, at least that's something," Niall shrugged, "Better to make sure that something like this can never happen again."

"Yeah," the rest of the boys agreed.

"Louis. Harry. In my office. Now." Simon's voice interrupts them.

"Good luck" the boys whisper to them, one by one as they pass them. Louis just nods.

"So, boys, you have a lot of work to do today so I'll just cut right to the chase," Simon says as they reach his office, "It seems to me that our original deal to make Louis the only one to have a beard isn't going to work."

Dread settles in the pit of Louis' stomach, "No."

"Excuse me?" Simon turns to Louis.

"No. You're not going to do that to Harry," Louis shakes his head.

"And why not?" He grins evilly.

"Because that's just cruel," Louis said, "And you shouldn't have to put him through that. I agreed to have a beard only so that Harry wouldn't have to."

"What?!" Harry exclaims, "Why is this the first time I'm hearing of this?"

Louis sighs, "Because I wanted to protect you, Harry. I know seeing me out with another girl kills you inside, it kills me too, but I know that having to be out with a beard is so much worse than seeing me with one."

"That's besides the point," Simon waved his hands, "You don't have time to think about your emotions, you have to think about your fans too."

"Our fans fully support us, why do you think you have to deal with these rumors in the first place? And if they don't, then they shouldn't call themselves our fans in the first place," Louis growled.

Simon chuckled, "Ok, fine. We'll make a bet. I'll let you two act more coupley in front of the fans for a month. If the fans react positively, then we can maybe  consider letting you come out. If they react negatively, however, then Harry gets a beard and you," Simon jabs his finger into Louis' chest, "Get back together with Eleanor. Deal?"

"Deal," Harry and Louis nodded excitedly. This was going to be the best month of their lives.

They ran out of the office in excitement.

"Woah there guys!" Niall exclaimed, "You guys look unusually happy considering you just got out of a meeting with Simon."

"Yeah, you know why?" Harry asked excitedly. He didn't even wait for Niall to reply, "Simon's letting us act coupley in public for a full month! And Louis gets to break up with Eleanor!"

"REALLY?!" Niall exclaimed and started jumping up and down, "That's amazing!"

"I'm so happy for you guys!" Zayn said and pulled Liam with him to give them a group hug.

Liam grinned and nodded in excitement, "This is amazing!"

"I know right," Louis said, but something felt off. Nothing is this exciting with Simon. Oh well, he shrugged it off. He's just overthinking. Simon might actually be coming to his senses, after all.
