Y/N's POV
Deciding to head to the high mountains outside the village despite being given a warning from Jake that she was the most dangerous out of all the four Alpha Vampires but I pressed on anyway.
Walking through the thick snow whilst avoiding detection from any of the Blood Sisters patrolling the village.
"Did the boy escape that easily? Surely the royal highness will have him more secure unless she wants him to escape," One of the sisters mentioned.
"For now, we are tasked to search for him, if we find him, we bring him to Jieun herself," She replied and she nodded.
They walked away and I didn't come out of my hiding spot until they were out of sight, I hopped out of the dumpster and continued making my way to the hiking path.
It was cold as shit out here despite wearing a jacket and pants with boots, I kept my pistol in hand in case something pops up.
I ventured deep into the forest where the map points to, I followed down the path but I saw many warning signs of bear and wolf country.
Proceeding with more caution as I didn't want to become the predator's lunch or join the food chain, but it didn't help as I saw massive footprints in the snow and they looked fresh too.
"I'd venture no further if I were you..." I heard a familiar voice warn and I turned to see Jake once again.
"Jake? How did you get here so fast?" I asked and he chuckled.
"As I said, I go where money is made, but I must warn you, you are ill-prepared for this test, Shen Xiaoting is an Alpha you don't want to take on... not without proper equipment and weapons at least and you need a key." He explained pointing at the gate that had a lock on it making me sigh in defeat.
"So where do I get the key?" I asked him.
"Well, that estate over there at the east side of the village arouses suspicion doesn't it? Perhaps worth taking a look?" He suggested.
"I guess," I replied and he nodded.
Seeing there was no way I could proceed further into the high mountains to the Emperor's palace where Xiaoting resides, I had no choice but to turn back to the village.
Following the map, I found the estate belonged to Jisoo, so I guess I have to confront her first before moving up to Xiaoting.
Anyway, I traveled to the estate and I groaned in frustration that there was a lock on the gate as well. Feeling lost, I tried to figure out what to do... Maybe there's a puzzle to this.
Taking everything out of my pockets to see what I could use, I had the letter invite, my pistol, my knife, and lastly my phone which was useless as there was no signal.
But then I felt a weird obstruction in the letter and I turned to the backside and of course, there was the gate key that I needed.
Taking the key from the letter, I insert the gate key inside the lock and unlock the gate, I walk through the large gateway into the estate.
