Thunder and the new dog went into a heaping mess. Thunder tried to slip away from the dog quickly, but they were just as big as her, maybe a little larger. The other dog was able to pin Thunder down, slamming its brown paws onto her tan chest.
She let out a croaky huff, "Get off of me!"
The dog that was on top of her, a brown and tan Doberman Pinscher with chocolatey brown eyes to match her fur, growled angrily, "As if I'd let you go. You must think I'm really stupid, intruder!"
Thunder hitched a breath as she realized an important fact. This she-dog is a Fierce Dog! She's going to kill me! She swallowed the lump in her throat and weakly growled, "J-just let me leave!"
The beautiful Doberman laughed blandly, her floppy ears perking in the process, "Funny you think I'm letting you go. You're coming back with me!"
Thunder let out a terrified gasp. If she is a Fierce Dog, does that mean her pack is made up of Fierce Dogs as well?
"No, please, let me go! I wasn't trespassing, I really wasn't! I just wanted to–"
"Quiet!" the Fierce Dog snapped. Thunder closed her muzzle tightly. The slightly larger dog straightened up, not releasing her grip on the German Shepherd. "I'm taking you to my Alpha, and you will not complain."
Thunder almost whined in distress, but instead, she let out a shaky breath. She noticed that the Fierce Dog wasn't as old as she thought. She still sounded sort of young. She was a grown pup a long while ago but an adult dog nonetheless.
"Now," the Doberman growled, "you will follow me. Do not say one word, or I'll break your neck with my teeth!"
Thunder listened to the dog's instructions as the muscly Fierce Dog backed off of her. She paused for a moment, considering how fast she'd have to run to escape the strong dog, but she decided she'd worry about that later.
Thunder scrambled to her paws as the Fierce Dog patiently waited for her to stand still. When Thunder was up, the tall Doberman turned and started to walk away in a fast trot. Thunder stayed close to her flank, scared of what might become of her if she didn't.
When they arrived at a few large bushes, the Fierce Dog stopped and turned, flicking her thin tail at Thunder. "Stay here," she ordered, "you run, you get your throat scratched."
Thunder nodded her understanding as the Doberman disappeared into the bushes. She thought about sitting down, but her nervousness was overtaking her. Reappearing after a long moment, the Fierce Dog came back out, and two other dogs followed in her paw steps. The first was a sleek, tan, and grayish-white Greyhound with dark eyes. The second was a gold and white furred Golden Retriever mix who also had dark eyes.
Thunder lowered herself to the ground as the Greyhound spoke. "What is your name?" she asked quietly. It took a while to find her voice, but finally, Thunder answered back in a whisper. The Greyhound nodded, "I am Alpha. This is Beta." She nodded at the Golden Retriever.
Thunder bravely lifted her head from the ground, "Okay... I–"
"You've been following us for a while, haven't you?" Beta interrupted, stepping forward a little. Thunder only nodded, a little embarrassed. "Why?" Beta asked.
Thunder gulped loudly, "Because... When I woke up one day, I'd heard barking. I think it was your pack. With no memory and stuff, I instinctively decided to follow you guys. I'm sorry."
There was silence for a long time. The Doberman from before glared at Thunder and then turned to Alpha. "Alpha, I'm sorry, but I don't trust this dog! Her story makes no sense!"
Thunder growled, I can bow down to this Beta and Alpha, but I will not let a Fierce Dog bully me!
"Hey!" Thunder snarled, "My 'story' is as accurate as I can remember it! You aren't me, so you wouldn't know!"
The Fierce Dog let out an angry growl as she started to stalk low to the ground. Alpha snapped her jaws in the air. "That's enough! Both of you! Storm, let me speak to Thunder alone, please."
The Doberman named Storm dipped her head respectfully at Alpha and glared at Thunder as she trotted back into the bushes.
Thunder stopped the gurgling sound coming from her throat and eyed Beta and Alpha. "She's great," she growled sarcastically.
To Thunder's surprise, Beta smiled, "She's not bad when you get to know her. All bark, mostly no bite."
Mostly? That's not concerning at all...
The Greyhound licked her lips and pointed her slender muzzle to the sky. She put it back in place and stared thoughtfully at Thunder. Thunder became nervous under her watchful eyes. Alpha blinked happily and said, "Thunder the Lone Dog, after consideration, I invite you into the Wild Pack!
