Immediately, Thunder fell back as Mickey forced her onto the ground. He snapped at her ears, not actually biting them, but showing that's where the pain would be inflicted.

"This is Thorn fighting," Breeze called out, pacing in place, "I don't think she'll hesitate to get the first bite in. What will you do, Thunder?"

Thunder huffed as Mickey wouldn't let up his weight and he still snapped at her.

Okay, remember what they taught you...

Thunder let out a furious growl and kicked out with both of her forelegs. Mickey backed off of her, pretending to crumble to the ground.

"Yes!" Thunder yipped, hurrying to her paws, but her victory was short lived as Mickey turned on her, snarling.

"Switching to Beetle!" Breeze barked.

Mickey nodded and lowered himself to the ground. Thunder let out a harsh bark. Mickey began to run circles around her, not stopping as Thunder confusedly turned her head, trying to keep up with him.

"You're going too fast!" she growled in irritation.

"Beetle... Wouldn't stop!" Mickey panted.

Thunder couldn't take the anticipation anymore. She sprung forward, guessing where Mickey might be, and fell badly on her muzzle. She whimpered as new weight made her dip down. Mickey had jumped onto her back. He pretended to nip viciously at her. In reality, he only bit small snippets of her fur, ones she couldn't feel. Thunder growled loudly in frustration and started to wiggle beneath him.

"Don't just kick out and wiggle!" Breeze warned, lifting her brown ears, "It will do you no good. Fight smart."

Thunder closed her muzzle to stop her from letting out a curse and started to back up from underneath Mickey. After a long minute, she was able to slip from underneath him. Before Mickey could react, Thunder jumped onto him, pinning him to the forest floor. Both dogs breathed heavily as Breeze happily made her way towards them.

"That was great for your first time!" Breeze yipped.

Thunder slid off of Mickey and dropped to her tail, "I guess."

Mickey nodded in agreement, hauling himself to his side, "You did well, Thunder. I'm sure you'll be able to beat Beetle or Thorn."

Thunder smiled widely as Mickey complimented her, "Th-thank you."

Breeze started to grin, "Now it's my turn!"

For the rest of the evening, Thunder trained with Mickey and Breeze, rolling through multiple fights, going over the same attacking tactics, and practicing her defense. Finally, Mickey and Breeze decided it was time to end her training.

"This was fun," Breeze murmured, nuzzling Thunder as the three dogs sat in a small circle.

"I think so as well," Mickey quietly said, "you've done great."

Thunder's tail swiped the ground, "Thank you, both of you! You guys have helped me when you didn't have to. I hope your training is enough to help me win."

Breeze licked Thunder's ear, "It will be. I'm sure of it. They're young dogs and they think they know everything when truthfully, they don't. But win or lose, you'll be great in the fight!"
