You'd been feeling that way for days. Weeks even. It probably had something to do with everyone you knew fawning over Bella so much. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with your cousin it was just...with the pack and the Cullen's all focused on her with the whole Edward/Bella/Jacob scenario you were feeling pretty worthless.

Not only did you know you weren't worth anything but it seemed everyone else knew it too. So it was a slight shock when, during the middle of the day you were skipping school, the doorbell rang. It was an even bigger shock to open the door and find the entirety of the Cullen family outside.

Emmett being Emmett pushed his way in whilst you were still trying to deal with your shock and everyone else followed, Carlisle politely closed the door behind them while Alice gently tugged you into the living room and got you to sit down on the sofa.

"Y/N, I apologise for the intrusion but Jasper informed us of some of your feelings lately and we were rather worried by them." Carlisle was using his 'doctor' voice and you had to appreciate how good it must be for his patients and families. It was the sort of voice that put you right at ease.

"You needn't have been Carlisle." You responded with a smile. "I'm fine."

Jasper frowned as Edward called your bluff. "So you don't think that your unimportant to everyone then?"

The matter-of-fact statement of your feelings drew you up short for a second and you fumbled nervously with the ties on your sweatpants. "Well I-"

"Because you're not." Alice's tinkling voice cut you off mid-answer. "Obviously."

Your brows drew down into a frown. "What's obvious about it exactly Alice?"

A beaming smile lit her face. "Well it's obvious that I need you to go shopping with because no one else ever wants to go any more silly."

"Well-"

"And it's obvious I need someone to play video-games and talk sports with because Rosie's not a big fan." Emmett grinned his dimples showing.

"I-"

"It's rather obvious that I need someone to eat my food otherwise I wouldn't be able to cook and you know how much enjoyment I get from that dear." Esme added with a smile and a pat to your arm.

"But-"

Rosalie cut across you with a roll of her eyes. "Clearly I need someone to talk to outside of the family. I need my best friend."

"You-"

"I need a human around who I don't want to kill all the time. It boosts my moral." Jasper threw in nonchalantly.

"It-"

"I need someone to reminisce about England with. As much as I love my family it's not the same from a non-natives perspective." Carlisle's kind smile lit up his whole face eyes dancing.

"We-"

"And I certainly need someone to help me understand Bella." Edward finished.

You were left gaping open mouthed at the vampire family before you.

"So you see, Y/N." Esme stated softly. "Just because the reasons we need you are a little more normal than the reasons we need Bella it doesn't mean we need you any less."

"And it certainly doesn't make you worthless." Rosalie threw in firmly.

Jasper surveyed you with for a second before adding in his 'soldier voice'. "So you can stop the pity party that's been giving me such a headache and come and do something useful with your day off."

"Like video-games!" Emmett exclaimed, practically vibrating with excitement.

With a nod and a smile you excused yourself to get changed thinking perhaps maybe you weren't worthless at all.
