Chapter 3

If one we to judge my actions, like updating this and not my other stories, then I would say it is because of lack of motivation.

[P.O.V. Gotham]

It was on the news, about how an entire force of the Falcone were wiped out after trying to assault the mysterious ship.

The police and Batman tried to identify the two young boys who caused the massacre, but they haven't found no match, not even across the world's database it was as if they never existed in the first place.

Batman had tried to infiltrate the ship, but the vigilance was too strong and felt that if he kept trying he would die. He also tried to sent once again some drones to spy on the ship, but they were all shot down easily.

His frustration reached a point when he tried to ask the magic oriented members of the Justice League Dark's member like Zatanna to see if there was a way to infiltrate.

But once she did... shw trembled in fear. She says that the ship contains too much magic of many kinds. From holy and demonic, even those which are not affiliated with one another.

This raised questions within Batman, if that was the case then why they weren't destroying one another?

He could only sigh and remember... the how that member of the Falcone died... The young man who did could no be older than some members of the Teen Titans, yet he was not only prepared to kill, he didn't even care about it. Neither the other young man in ninja garbs did seem to.

A mystery that Batman is struggling to keep up...

[P.O.V. Chaldea]

Ritsuka, together with Mash and the Saber Jack the Ripper, are exploring the city which is known as Gotham.

While the city was big and comparable to the likes of New York or Chicago, Ritsuka could see it was way worse than any other place he had seen. The air was kinda putrid and the criminals were so overwhelming that Saber Jack, who goes by Charles Darlington, had to deal with those who tried to assault them around five times over. Of course, Jack did so without killing them to not attract attention to them.

"Man, this city sucks." Ritsuka says outloud as he looked the grimm scenario of Gotham, the name of the city which they learned during their exploration.

"Indeed... I can see the corruption and malovolence running through the air. This is a dreadful city to live on." Jack also comments at seeing the city.

"Senpai... While it is true, there are still people who are trying to make their lives worth in this city." Mash comments about the normal people who are trying to make their lives on Gotham despite the chaos they lived in.

Ritsuka nodded and says. "You know... I can sorta see why the so called 'Batman' had emerged. By what we read on the newspaper, there are some criminals whom the normal police wouldn't be able to handle. Plus... most of them can be corrupt as shit."

Ritsuka's comment was right. Earlier they read about many kinds of superpowered criminals whom police forces can't handle, like a monster called Clayface, an seemingly immortal zombie called Solomon Grundy, and many more which they can't name. Even more when the city is literally controlled by many mafia families.

The Saber looked slightly behind him with a dangerous glint in his eyes, which is noticed by Ritsuka as he asked. "What is it, Charles?" Ritsuke used Jack's incognito's name.

The Saber replied with his mysterious tone. "Master, you and Mash can go ahead, there's something I would like to see for myself."

Ritsuka immiatedly understood what is that what Jack wanted to 'see' so he says. "Alright, I'll leave it to you then."
