Fuck ME.

Out of everyone, I had to get paired with Ethan Halters. Knowing him, he probably won't even contribute.

"No." Hold up, why is he saying no? I'm not thrilled about the idea, but he shouldn't be against it. What a rude dude. I scoff audibly, and Holly laughs.

"Don't know why you're laughing like you and Joyce aren't Emily's sheep." The rest of the class joins in. Seriously, who does she think she is? She shoots me a glare.

"Elena. DT after school hours.I'm sorry, but what did you think would happen?" Ugh, I groan once more. Why is my day starting off so crappy?

Holly is definitely going to run and tell Emily that I'm stuck with Ethan. I swear, Emily's obsession with him is next-level. They've been doing this on-and-off thing since the academic year started – six weeks, to be exact. Talk about speed. The moment Emily can get all touchy-feely with him, she's on it. Sure, she's pretty, but an ugly personality? That's a whole different kind of unattractive.

"Everyone, go and sit next to your partners. Now!" Miss Durrans says impatiently, unleashing chaos as everyone scrambles to their assigned pairs. There's Ethan, slouched back on his chair, head up, man-spreading like he owns the place, looking sexy but refusing to move. Well, I'm not waiting for him to come to me; I make my way to him instead.

He pushes the chair next to him in, and I'm standing there looking pathetic with my bag and my pencil case.

"Look, stop being difficult because we're going to have to do it anyway." I say, growing more irritated by the second.

He says, "I'm not being difficult, just the other side is less crowded." And looks me in my eyes smirking, one by one with his icy blue eyes. Perhaps he looks in both, since I do have complete heterochromia.

He pulls out the other side's chair, and I give a half-smile to thank him.

"Careful, don't want your girlfriends' followers to go reporting back." I say smirking just because I know before he thought he was being hilarious. I'm simply doing it back.

"She's not my girlfriend-don't get it confused." He says while rearranging himself to look at me. I must say his glare is really intimidating, so I don't say any more than that. I say thank you to Miss whilst she hands us the list of questions, and she smiles back. Ethan doesn't. No manners on the boy. I scan through the sheet, looking at the questions.

"In 5 lessons time, you should know all the answers to the questions for each other. You can start now."

He pulls out his phone and starts doing whatever on it, not even looking up.

I cough loudly to try to get his attention, but he clearly ignores me and carries on, on his phone.

Bitch.

"Do you want to get off your phone?" I say with an attitude. The kid is not serious. I actually want to pass my classes.

He looks up at me slowly, and I've got time to inspect him.

His gaze is like a frosty laser beam, making you feel seen in a way that's both thrilling and intimidating. That one rebellious strand of brunette hair is like his personal trademark.

His nose is perfect. Any girl would swap her entire skincare routine to have a nose like that. Beneath it, those lips are like a vivid splash of pink, as if he's just eaten the juiciest cherry. It's the kind of face that makes you look twice, and now I can see why people are obsessed with him.

He's sexy. So what.

"Are you done eye fucking me?" He says, and I scoff but low-key if I were white I would be blushing.
