Waves of sultry heat washed over Bableworth as July came to an end, but Charlotte hardly noticed the shining sunny days - the blow which had come to her nearly a month ago was still painful.
On the night that Tonks had suddenly disappeared and Molly Weasley had visited, Dumbledore had been murdered by one of his staff. Charlotte knew that it was harder for those who had known him for years - such as Elphias Doge who had written his obituary. Still, Dumbledore had been kind and patient to her, had explained many things and understood. Now, he was gone. And he wouldn't be returning.
She had been invited to his funeral, but was unwilling to make a journey up to Scotland - instead she had had a quiet word with Mrs Weasley.
Now, the murderer had been instated as the new head of Hogwarts. It was all too much to absorb, so Charlotte turned once again to her books - this time about Magical Law Enforcement and Wizarding Wills, which fascinated her.
