Chapter six

The rest of the night wizzed by in a flash and my cheeks were hurting from laughing so much. The weight off my shoulders was an unbelievable feeling and the first sign of happiness in weeks was blissful. Lando and I spend our night watching terrible reality tv and chatting away about races and everything I've missed for the past few weeks.

As I smiled up at Lando from his lap, I realised that the pair of us end up in this position more than I would like to admit. He was sat with his legs up on the reclining chair, whilst I laid on the rest of the sofa. My head was in his lap, with one of his arms laid across my chest, and the other playing with my hair mindlessly. I grabbed my phone from next to me and opened the camera.
"Smile Land," I said whilst trying to catch a flattering angle of us both. He snuggled down and cuddled into me some more, and smiled brightly for the photo.

Georgina - Missing you four big time, but at least Lando likes to watch Real Housewives with me🤣

Lando - you love the alone time with me Gee don't lie.

Charlotte - you best believe you're getting the biggest cuddle in the whole world when I get my hands on you Mrs, be ready.

Georgina - next weekend! Eeekk!! Can't bloody wait!!

I swiped off the chat, and the time caught my eye. Wow, it was much later than I thought it was.
"Right Mr Norris. We best be getting to bed if we want to be up on the morning for this grand adventure you're apparently taking me on," I said, sitting up from the sofa.
"Are you sure you don't want to sleep in my bed? I really don't mind sleeping on the sofa" I asked Lando for the hundredth time tonight.
"I wouldn't dream of it, a pillow and a blanket on the sofa will do me," Lando smiled.
So I grabbed the things to make him as comfy as possible, set up the sofa and then climbed up the stairs to flop into my own bed.

Time crawled by, and eventually it was 2 hours from when I first climbed into my bed. Rolling over, I groaned when I saw the time on my phone. I rolled out of the bed and slipped my slippers on my feet, turning to walk out of my room. I snuck down the stairs as quiet as I possibly could, trying not to disturb Lando from his sleep.

Just as I was about to turn into the kitchen I got the shock of my life.
"No sleep in you either?" Lando said loudly.
"Jesus Christ you fucking dickhead. I think I've just had a heart attack," I said whilst holding my chest. I spun around to see Lando rested up on his elbows, smirking at me.
"Sorry, sorry," he said, holding his hands in the air.
"The sleep situation hasn't been the best since he left me," I said, putting my head down slightly.
"Hey don't do that, you were a boss bitch and left his sorry ass and rightly so," Lando said, sitting up from his previous laying position.
I walked over to the sofa and sat down next to him.
"The worst thing is, I'm absolutely exhausted but I just can't seem to drift off, its awful," I said.
"Let me guess, the sofa keeping you awake?" I said, Lando sheepishly nodded his head at me, as a response.
"I told you it wasn't comfy, you should have just got in my bed," I said with a smile.
"Well I wouldn't say no now, after trying to sleep on it for going on two hours," he said with a sigh.
I faltered for a second, before saying my next words. Deciding it it was really what I wanted.
"Well come to bed then," I said, the worst leaving my mouth as quick as a flash, but Lando heard them and shook his head immediately, making my heart sink into my stomach.
"I've already told you Gee, I'm not taking your bed off you," he said, patting me on the back.
"Well I didn't mean take it off me," I began to say, to which Lando furrowed his eyebrows together. "I meant come to bed with me. We're mature enough and have been friends long enough to share a bed, surely. Me and Charlotte do it all the time, so why would it be any different if we did it," I began rambling on.
"Are you sure you'd be okay with that Gee, I don't want to do something you're not comfortable with," he said, placing a hand on my knee.
"100% sure Lan, it would be nice to have some company actually," I said.
And so, without any more conversation, we both stood up from the sofa, and Lando followed me up the stairs to my bed.

I hung my dressing gown up, while Lando made himself comfortable on my bed, I turned around and headed towards the bed myself and stopped in my tracks.
"Absolutely not, shift yourself over," I said upon seeing Lando snuggled up on my side of the bed. Lando pouted at me and gave me a pleading look.
"No, I've already let you in my bed, you're not taking my side off me as well," I said whilst walking over my my side.
As I approached, Lando shuffled himself over and I plonked myself into my bed, desperate to fall asleep but not holding out much hope. I turned the lamp off and rolled over to face Lando, to find him already laid facing me.
"Goodnight Lan, thank you for making everything feel okay," I said, placing a soft kiss onto his cheek.
"Goodnight sweetheart, anything for you," he said, placing a hand on my cheek and running his thumb gently over my cheekbone. He stayed there for what felt like an eternity, his jade coloured eyes staring into my brown ones. My heart began to flutter and and my breath hitched at the back of my throat.
"Lando," I breathed out, his thumb still tracing over my cheek.
"Georgina, turn around before I do something I shouldn't do," Lando said, and I laid for one second more, enjoying the softness of his skin on my face. Then I shifted my body over, slowly turning myself to face away from him, immediately missing the feeling of the heat in my face.

My head swam with a million thoughts. Was Lando about to kiss me? Did I do the right thing by turning around? Why was my heart thundering and my head spinning? How could I be this confused and feel like this just mere weeks after a break up of a long term relationship, after not wanting to leave the house for weeks?

I squeezed my eyes shut tightly and let out a sigh. I need to go to sleep before I go insane. I nestled my head down into the pillow and tried to banish all thoughts of Lando and Aaron from my head. And just as I thought I might be successful at doing that, an arm looped around my waist and pulled me sharply into his chest. His warm breath blew into my hair, and his hands felt like they were lighting my skin on fire. His fingers began tracing shapes on my waist and goosebumps erupted all over my body.
"Georgina, I didn't mean that I didn't want to do it," Lando said, "I just want to make sure that when I do do it, you're 100% sure and your mind is in nothing but me," he whispered into my hair and in that moment my breath was knocked out of my chest.
