I stood up from the sofa and pottered over to the door, once again wondering who would be calling at my house unannounced. I opened the door, forcing myself to paint a smile on my face while doing so. But as soon as my eyes hit the person who was stood in front of me my face dropped.

"Aaron - I - I - what are you doing here," I stuttered, flabbergasted to see my ex boyfriend leant against the door frame to the house we once shared together.
"Hi Georgina, hope I'm not interrupting anything, by the looks of the car on the driveway you've got company, but I've come to collect the last of my things," he said, flashing me a smile.
"Now's not a good time, Aaron. Can you come back a different time?" I said to him, while he inched closer to the inside of the house.
"Who have you got round anyway? Nice car out front, Charles bought Charlotte a new car by any chance?" Aaron continued, acting friendly, as though nothing had happened weeks earlier.
"Like I said now isn't a good time, please can you come back later?" I said, standing my ground.

Aaron's eyes began darting around the open plan, ground level of the house. His eyes landing on something behind me.
"That's funny, I didn't realise Charlotte owned men's shoes or liked to wear caps," Aaron said, his eyes not leaving the objects which had caught his eye.
I quickly turned my head around, to look at what had caught his attention. Taking the opportunity of me being distracted, Aaron pushed his way into my home and shut the door behind him.

"So, are you going to tell me who you've got round now Georgina? Didn't take you long did it," Aaron snarled at me.
"I think it's best you leave, Aaron. I'm not ready for this," I said, tears threatening to spill over my eyes. Watching as he inched closer and closer to me.
"Tell me who it is Georgina, don't tell me it's that wanker from work, Blake," Aaron continued, walking closer and closer, making me back away from him.
"Aaron please," I said quietly, my eyes fixed on the floor.
"You're nothing but a slut, you wasted no time to get another man in your bed. Can't even go a few weeks without being fucked can you," he said. My back eventually hit the wall, and the realisation that I was now sandwiched between the wall and Aaron.
"Who the FUCK is in my house," Aaron raises his voice, shocking me as his face had gotten right up close to my own.
"Lando," I whispered, hearing my own voice crack, and a silent tear roll down my cheek. The seriousness of the situation hitting me, as my mind took me back to previous nights where things had gotten out of control.
Aaron let out a vicious laugh.
"I should have fucking known. Fucking whore. That's all you've ever gone to them races for, to see who the richest person you could shag was. Now you're lapping it up thinking you can do it in my house too," Aaron snarled in my face, his hand coming up and slamming into the wall next to my face, making me flinch away from it and more tears stream down my face.
I attempted to push him arm away, which was only met with a vice like grip around my forearm. His fingers bound to be leaving bruises behind.
"Watch what you're fucking doing, otherwise you know what will happen," Aaron snapped into my ear.

"What the fuck is going on!" I hear a loud voice come from the stairwell.
My eyes darted towards it, and seen Lando stood there, black shorts on and no top, with his hair still damp.
Aaron let out an angry chuckle, tipping his head back but never loosening his grip on my arm.
"How long then? How long have you been fucking my girlfriend for?" Aaron snapped, turning his head to face Lando.
"Listen mate you better take your hands off her right now," Lando said, striding over to where we were stood and curling his hands into tight fists.
"How about you leave this between me and my girlfriend, mate," Aaron said, adding the last bit through gritted teeth.
"I'm not your girlfriend anymore," I whispered, resulting in Aaron swivelling around and raising his fist towards my face. I braced myself for the connection of Aaron's fist to my face, but nothing came. I peeled my eyes open to see Lando with Aaron's arm in his hands, yanking him backwards.

I took in a deep breath, rooted to the stop, unable to take my eyes off of the scene in front of me.
"Get the fuck out now, before I call the police you fucking lunatic!" Lando shouted, shoving Aaron towards the door.
"This has got nothing to do with you, Norris. Keep fucking the gold digger for all I care mate. Good for nothing slut only wants dick and money," Aaron spat towards Lando, then once again turned his attention onto me.
"He'll soon drop you when he finds someone better, and that won't take much. This isn't the last of this Georgina," Aaron warned me, before turning on his heel, exiting the house and slamming the door behind him.

I hear Lando making all sorts of comments about the encounter which has just happened, but all I could hear was muffled noise, as silent tears now rushed down my face. My knees buckled beneath me and my body crumpled to the floor, as I was finding it more and more difficult to draw breath.
"Gee, Gee, can you hear me. Oh my god Gee are you okay? What do I do?" I hear Lando, as he rushes to sit in front of me, taking my face into his hands.
"I - I - I can't, I - I" I stutter out, unable to form a proper sentence.
"It's okay darling, it's okay, he's gone and he's not going to get you you again. You're safe babe I've got you, I promise," he quietly said to me, his hushed voice making some of the heaviness in my chest ease slightly. He pulled me into his lap, and we sat in silence for an unknown period of time. The tears that marked my face slowly lessened, as I felt the soothing feeling of Lando's hands playing with my hair softly and the quiet words he was repeating in my ear.

When all of my tears had dried, my chest left a slight bit lighter and the world seemed to stop spinning to quickly, I turned my body slightly, and engulfed Lando into a hug.
"Thank you," I let our breathlessly, squeezing Lando around his middle.
"Gee.... Are you okay? I mean okay as you can be," Lando said, taking my face in his hands once again. I nodded my head, showing Lando a small smile.
"I don't mean to pry Gee, but I have to ask. What he was about to do to you," Lando winced at the words he was speaking, "has he, you know, done that to you before?" He asked, his eyes burning into my own. I took a deep breath in and swallowed, before slowly nodding my head.
Lando let out a deep breath and closed his eyes, letting the information he had just received wash over him. When he looked back up, I saw some stray tears running down his face.
"Gee, why didn't you tell anybody it was happening? We could have helped you," Lando said, his thumbs running over my face. I lowered my head, a feeling of shame filling my stomach.
"I was stuck, Lan. He promised every time it would never happen again, but it always did. I'd been with him for so long and yes he made me feel horrific, but he also made me feel on top of the world when it was on his terms," I breathed out. "I was scared of what might happen, and I was right to be scared because I've never been more terrified of what could happen than I am right now," I let out a cry.
"Gee, we've got you I promise. We've got you, nothing else is going to happen to you now," Lando said, tears still falling down his face.
"I think we need to get you somewhere away from here though, I don't feel right is being here, never mind you on your own," Lando said, pulling me to my feet.
