Chapter 11

Zane

"This is your brilliant plan?" Aleks asks blandly.

"Um, excuse you!" Sophie Donnelly holds up a perfectly manicured finger. "Don't underestimate us!"

"Yeah, because two of us got invited to a Silver Knights party, and the rest of you...well...did not," Ariana Donnelly smirks. Sophie and Ariana exchange knowing looks.

I can't help but grin. I love how ballsy the Donnelly girls are.

Aleks has been on everyone's case to try to get these letters from Rory Farrell's belongings. He's practically obsessed with the idea of them. He thinks they'll get us answers. I also know he sort of thinks that Rory may have been exchanging them with one of the Donnelly cousins. I'm not sure I agree with that. It's a little far-fetched, even for him.

When I saw Ariana on the quad talking with Jemma Mancini – one of Gabe Rossi's inner circle, an idea struck my mind. I approached Ariana and Sophie in the dining hall where they were eating lunch just to catch up. Ariana mentioned she got invited to a Silver Knights party this weekend. Sophie insisted she go too and then I asked them if they'd be interested in helping us out.

Sophie seems like a daredevil. Her loyalties clearly lie with the Wolves and against anything Rossi or Tazza. Although, I'm sure even if they didn't, she'd be all over a secret mission where she gets to flex her muscles of charming unsuspecting men.

Ariana was a bit harder to convince. She's more a goodie-goodie. But she's also cunning, coming from her uber-successful, rich, mafia empire parents no doubt.

When I brought the idea back to Aleks, Josh, and Leo, they were skeptical at first, but eventually agreed that it could work.

So, now here we are, mic'ing up Ariana and Sophie Donnelly. Tate's cousins. My heart tightens at the memory of Tate's face last week – the look of disappointment and...hate.

I shake it from my mind.

"What if they search us?" Ariana asks worriedly.

"They won't," Aleks grumbles.

"No offense," Eli grins from where he's standing, "But neither of you are wearing enough clothes to warrant suspicion that you're wired."

"Aw, thank you for noticing," Sophie grins, adjusting her black mini-dress that doesn't leave much to the imagination. Leo's got the latest tech though. The little mic and camera are hidden perfectly on the necklace that hangs between her ample cleavage.

"Not too shabby," I nod in approval.

Ariana taps her heeled foot nervously. She's in a matching dress, but in white. The picture of innocence. They both play their roles well, that's for sure. Sophie's the outgoing, popular, sexy one. Ariana's the sweet, charming, mysterious one. She's a lot shorter than her cousin and even in heels, Ari only comes up to Sophie's shoulder. Her necklace is a lot longer looking than Sophie's due to her petite frame.

"Is there anything we can do about that?" I ask, motioning to the necklace loosely hanging between her chest.

"Here," Josh sighs, stepping forward to help adjust Ari's necklace. Ari's eyes widen as Josh crowds her space and carefully fixes the necklace so it's not buried between her breasts.

"Thanks," she mutters.

Josh flicks her hair over her shoulders before taking a step back.
