Home. Where was home? Penny didn't know herself, she wished she did. Penny didn't know what she can do with herself.  She never stayed in any place for long, always travelling. But she guessed that was just a matter of life that she, the daughter of a multi- millionaire, global business owner, always traveling from place to place, to be with her dad whenever she could in the holidays, for her dad's meetings in his various different offices. She was always on the move, the only stability she had was when she was at school. Penny, growing up in Newtown, attending quite a nice private school in her primary school life,  to being shipped off to a boarding school in Cardiff from age 12 until she left when she was 18. Penny wasn't alone in that school, she had her twin brother, Alfie, with her. She loved him , made her feel  at home, but home? She couldn't possible feel like she could be at home without her family. She knew this was difficult with the age gaps with her and her siblings, she knew it. It was something as the youngest she had to accept. Penny had fond memories of when she was a child and would help her dad around the office, Penny would usually be the one to run paper over to different people in the office, and act as sectary and bring over water as a child and started bringing over tea and coffees when she reached her teen years.

School for penny was good, she had an amazing close knit friendship group, who she shared a house with at school. They had parties often in the house, laughs and memories made there. She loved it. In fact, she missed it. She missed all the fun, the memories, the people, maybe not her English teacher though. She would never admit it, but Penny often gets nightmares about her teacher, she feared him, he could be so intimidating at times, giving out detention for the smallest of things. She was glad when she got away from him. Cardiff was amazing for her, gave her a feel of the city, not like Newtown, although Penny missed home, she missed her family, sometimes she felt like she was being punished, being sent away, away from home. Cardiff was home, for a time anyway. All good things had to come to an end. Penny returned home for the summer, being victim to her fathers anger and disappointment when she announced she had applied to join the fire service. Her father had high hopes for her, hoped she'd join the family business. But she didn't, Penny's heart wasn't in it. She wanted to do something different in her life, something active, make a difference, help people. She was a people person, she wanted to save lives.

Though, Penny didn't stay long at home again, she made friends quickly at Newtown academy and got a flat share with them.  Though, Penny did feel at home, she lived with 4 other guys at the academy, she never felt judged by them, they were like her brothers. She enjoyed her time in Newtown fire station, it was brutal for her, but she was in her birth town. She had some friends nearby, her mother nearby if needed.

But, obviously, Penny knew all too well, that would end. Sure she had been to Pontypandy occasionally as needed when she was sent by her station officer at Newtown, God he was a right cow at times. Penny was the only woman at that station, and coincidently was always the one sent away to other stations. She knew it was done on purpose, to get her and her strictness out the station. She didn't care, she knew she had to be tough. The others were known for picking on Penny and making things more difficult for her in her life. She had grown up with brothers, this was water off a ducks back to her.

But those days were soon to be over, when Penny was called into the office of the Station Officer, who handed her a new contract, a transfer form. Penny must admit, she did feel somewhat hurt, not being asked about it. But she knew, she signed up for it. They always claimed she has a choice, but she didn't. She was being forced to move stations. Penny knew the consequences, gaining respect from new people, getting to know a new community, moving herself. Penny signed the contract, sighing as she did so. Time to move on again.

Penny remembers arriving at Pontypandy fire station for her first shift as a permeant member of staff for the first time, the nerve wracking of signing on to Station Officer Steele, she wasn't fond of him, nor the others, for that matter. She brought her first ever house alone in Pontypandy. Penny loved it, but at the same time hated it. She'd never lived alone fully, she always had someone. Penny often called one of her brothers, friends or her parents to come round, just so she wouldn't be alone. Penny brought her house on the outskirts of both Newtown and Pontypandy.

But Pontypandy, it grew on her. It was a small community, everyone knew each other, everyone knew each others business, she hated that. It was so unnatural, she had grown up in a city environments, never a village.  The city grew on her. The only good thing for Penny to come out of her transfers was she got to keep her favourite fire service vehicles, Venus. Venus was a gift to Penny, it was given after she achieved the highest score ever in the exams and set a record in the academy. She was glad to find Trevor has left full time firefighting, she hated him. On her second week, Sam had been forced to take time off (thank god) , and she was getting the bus from her cottage. Trevor had insulted her, claiming she was not good enough. He was horrid to her. Penny remembers how long it took for everyone in the town to fully respect her, though sometimes she doubted it. Dilys partially, she hated her.

But Pontypandy grew on her, the people, grew on her. Her colleagues, Sam, Elvis, Steele, and eventually Arnold and Ellie, they became her close friends, people she could confide in, go out for a drink with. They all cared for her, she cared for them. Penny went on to develop feelings for one of her colleagues as well, and was overjoyed when she found that he felt the same, and eventually asked her out. Penny loved the place, the people. She admits, she does miss her family, her brothers, her old friends, but she knew they'd always be there for her. Home. Pontypandy was her home now.
