It was around 6 a.m. on Copper 9, and you could hear the faint sound of two pairs of footsteps crunching in the snow among the abandoned city the humans had built before they speedran extinction on this planet.
V was following Uzi, getting antsy a bit due to the circumstances they were in; she didn't want them to burn, and she was probably more anxious about that due to being tired, but Uzi was still looking for a specific part to repair the pod; she had been working on this for months.
V eventually piped up after the long silence, hoping Uzi would at least come with her and get some rest before she continued on this project.
"Are you done yet? The sun is about to rise."
Uzi turned around to look at V, stopping in her tracks. The sound of the snow crunching under their feet stopped, and she raised an eyebrow before speaking.
"Calm down; I'm almost done anyway."
Uzi brushed off his concerns before turning back around to continue walking towards a pile of rubble and dead worker drones, looking through it for wires and circuits.
V stood behind her, slightly tapping her foot. She kept looking back at where the sun would rise and back at Uzi. She would get increasingly anxious the longer Uzi took before she decided to take her back to the spire of dead worker drone corpses.
Meanwhile, Uzi was unaware of whatever V was doing behind her, but she was so focused on this that she had completely forgotten about sunrise. She was tired after being awake all night, something she was adapting to when she felt two hands on her waist that lifted her up, and she was placed on V's shoulders.
"V., what are you doing?"
Uzi was seemingly getting a bit annoyed about being interrupted while V had both of her hands on Uzi's legs to keep her on her shoulders.
"By bringing you back, you're not getting yourself killed over a goddamn part."
V explained, then expanded her wings and took off with Uzi on her shoulders, and Uzi sighed before she laid her head on top of V's head before speaking in a more quiet and tired-sounding voice, protesting against this a bit.
"I could've walked back myself..."
I knew that was BS. She quite literally fell asleep in the snow once. While doing this, her grip tightened on Uzi's legs to make sure she didn't fall while carrying her on her shoulders and flying. Uzi had zoned out a bit during this whole trip and didn't even notice they had gotten back before she felt snow blow around them due to V landing, and V crouched down and spoke.
"Alright, we're back. Come on."
Uzi sighed as she slowly climbed down Vs back onto the ground, the snow, and rubbed her eye, blinking a few times when she tilted her head upwards to look back at V. She had her arms open for Uzi; she wanted to get her to sleep as soon as possible.
"Come here.."
Uzi complied after V had said that she walked into her arms, embracing her and pressing up against her, and she soon felt V's arms wrap around her and pull her closer before jumping up and wrapping her tail quickly around a metal bar, using one of her hands to hold onto Uzi's beanie before her wings were now semi-wrapped around the two.
Uzi quickly got comfortable and was shifting a bit in her arms before she closed her eyes and mumbled.
"Thank you.."
A small smile formed on V's face before she planted a gentle kiss on Uzi's forehead while running her fingers through her hair, keeping her beanie on her head while they were upside down and whispering.
"It's no problem. Now sleep."
The Vs sleep mode message appeared on her visor, and her head drooped, meaning she had gone to sleep, while Uzi followed along with this and rested her head on Vs chest. She could hear her core beating in her chest before her vision went black, and her sleep mode message on her screen also appeared.

Yet when Uzi woke up, she was in bed. She was all tired and groggy. Her head was a bit foggy. As soon as she woke up, she sat up in her bed and looked around her room. She noticed she seemed tucked into her bed, so she thought she had woken up late, and V must've brought her back to her bed so she could go hunting.
Uzi got up from her bed, grabbed her beanie from the nightstand, and put it on. Looking in the mirror, she looked a bit weird; some parts of her looked like they were proportioned differently. The changes looked subtle, but she brushed them off, thinking her vision was still distorted and blurry due to waking up right there and then. However, this was not the case.
She pressed a few buttons on the keypad of her door before it opened. She stepped out into the hallway and decided to go and try to find V. She didn't have anything better to do at all and frankly didn't like being home either.
She had grabbed her bag that had the keycard to the blast doors in it before leaving her home. The door shut automatically behind her when she stepped out and looked left and right before starting to walk to the blast doors.
The sound of someone walking on metal could be heard echoing through the hallways as Uzi turned the corner. The blast doors finally were right in front of her. She walked up and scanned her keycard, and the doors opened, creating a gust of wind and snow to blow into the bunker before she stepped out, and they shut behind her.
She looked over the scenery of broken cars and junk around the city, except things looked just off. Something didn't exactly feel right to her; she was too focused to care. She quickly made her way to the spire of dead worker drone corpses, hoping to find V there, but when she got there, she only saw N.
Slightly disappointed to not see V there, but at least somebody was around. She'll probably just ask him where she was and wait around till V got back. She called out to N.
"Hey N!"
She saw N had noticed her and had smiled at her while waving and walking over before he spoke.
"Hey Uzi, what are you doing here? I thought you'd be sleeping. Did something happen?"
He asked, looking at her with a questioning look. She was still a bit tired, putting a hand on her forehead and clutching some of her hair.
"Just looking for V; do you know where she is?"
Uzi asked, expecting N to say she would be back soon or exactly where she was, but instead he looked at her, confused.
"Who?"
She was weirded out by this response. What did he mean by who??
"V?... Did you mishear me or something?"
N looked at her, confused, but she was just as confused as he was.
"I don't know who that is. Are you feeling okay?"
He asked with concern in his voice, and he had put a hand on her shoulder. She was standing there processing what he was saying. What did he mean by that? Was he fucking around with her, and this was just some sort of joke? .. His expression seemed pretty serious, though.
There wasn't any explanation for this till uzi had thought about it, and her eyes widened before she quickly spun around and ran out of the corpse spire. She could hear N call out for her again, but it fell on her deaf ears and was muffled out by her panic. She felt a ringing sound in her ears; it hurt her head. She kept hearing this faint pounding sound like she could hear her core beating in her chest from her ears. What the hell was going on?
Better yet, where was she?? It felt like she had been going in circles, and the area seemed smaller. She looked around and called out her name loudly. She felt like she wasn't able to breathe with how loud she was yelling and running at the same time.
She eventually stopped running and stood there. Her legs were shaking as she looked at the ground and fell to her knees. She felt nauseous and her stomach turned, then her thoughts went back to V. Actually, she couldn't think of her. She didn't know if this was because of her state of panic or what, but her face was only a blur in her mind.
She was like a memory, or maybe even a fake memory she had created. Was she real? Was she not? No one seems to know who she is. She's not real, is she? She couldn't even remember her face or her voice before her head went blank and her vision was gone abruptly. It was temporary, though.

Her eyes shot wide open as she sharply gasped loudly from feeling a sudden warmth around her, grabbing the arms of someone wanting to pull them off of her in a panic. She was upside down, hanging from a ceiling of something confused, and didn't know where she was now. The thing is, her doing this had startled V, causing V to wake up, her eyes shooting open too, and accidentally drop her into the snow.
V mumbled the words "shit" to herself, realizing she had dropped Uzi after having a few seconds to take in what was going on before she looked down and saw Uzi, except she seemed more panicked. Vs face dropped a bit before she unwrapped her tail around from where she was hanging and jumped down right next to Uzi before noticing how heavy and quick her breathing was.
"Uzi-"
V tried to put her hand on Uzi's shoulder, but Uzi had flinched a bit, her head quickly turning to look at V. V noticed the distress in Uzi's eyes; she looked really out of it, like she didn't know where she was or what was going on, and the small amount of tears that were pricking the side of her eyes. V exhaled deeply before putting her hands slowly on Uzi's face, cupping her cheeks and speaking in a soft tone to her, trying to ease her nerves as much as possible.
"Hey, hey, it's okay."
V could feel that Uzi was relaxing a bit, and she removed one of her hands from her face. Uzi's facial expression softened a bit, but her unshed tears were still very present in her eyes. Her thumb was caressing her cheek, and Uzi had finally regained her composure to speak.
"V?..."
V nodded in response before speaking.
"Yea?"
Uzi suddenly hugged V very tightly. Her grip on V was very strong, and her hands clutched onto her jacket before she spoke.
"You're real, right?"
In response, V wrapped her arms around Uzi tightly in the same manner that Uzi was hugging her; she didn't know what happened for her to ask this as her hand rubbed Uzi back up and down, resting her head on top of her head.
"Of course I am."
She then put one of her arms under Uzi's kneecaps before standing up with her in her arms.
"Let's get you back to sleep, okay?... your exhausted."
V was prepared to go back to sleep with Uzi, but she felt Uzi tug on her jacket.
"Wait."
"Hm?"
"Can we stay awake for a few more minutes?"
V smiled softly at her before she held her tighter and gave her a kiss on the forehead, stroking her head.
