mavis shifted her shoulders and yawned as she listened to rosalie rant about another math test that she failed.

"and, hello? we were never taught this stuff!" rosalie exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air. "mr. thomas has one job and he doesn't even know how to do it right. i think we should protest for better teachers."

"i don't think that's how it works, rose," faith grinned and slammed her locker closed. "mav, have you been to bio yet?"

"bio's sixth period for me remember?" mavis said, shutting her phone off and shoving it into her back pocket. "why, what's going on?"

"mr. king is assigning a partner assignment but it's teacher pick," faith grimaced and mavis let out a groan and then made a gun with her fingers, placed it underneath her chin, and then pulled the trigger.

"it shouldn't be that bad," rosalie shrugged delicately.

"the only person i know in there is the teacher," mavis deadpanned and rosalie threw an arm over her shoulders.

"mavie baby, you are in desperate need of more friends," she sing-songs.

"one, please never call me that again," mavis suppresses a grin. "two, i have all the friends i need."

"aw, so sweet, mav," rosalie presses a manicured hand to her heart.

"what's so sweet?"

the three girls turn to the two boys approaching and mavis grins at the sight of them carrying a drink holder with starbucks.
