"vi? help me zip this up, please!"
mavis' eyes tear away from the mirror in front of her and she sets down the lip gloss she was using. "coming!" she calls out as she stands, smoothing out her dress, and makes her way down the hall to her sister's room.
her door is ajar, leading to the clean, decluttered room mavis admired so much. of course, her room would never be like that because of her love for random trinkets.
elise stands in front of the mirror, looking as beautiful as ever. gentle deep brown curls fall over her shoulders and every part of her make up is in place even though she hardly needed it at all. elise's natural beauty made some people jealous. it made mavis smile.
her sister was struggling to zip up the little white dress for under her gown and was frowning at the mirror as if it had personally offended her. elise spots mavis through the glass and smiles brightly.
"hi, vivi. help me please?" her sister turns to her with that sickly sweet smile of hers and mavis grins, nodding.
she makes her way over to her, guiding her to turn around. "of course, but i thought you told dad you didn't need help," she scoffs softly. "your hair."
elise scoops up the offending hair over her shoulder and shrugs. "well, it might've just been a little white lie. it's fine. plus, i have you," she teases as mavis struggles to get the zip up. "my little maid."
