(🌷) her grandma's voice immediately sent waves of relief flooding through her. her grandma was the only one of her family members that still spent time with her and continuously supported her. "hi dumpling," grammy greeted.
"how's your new couch?" mavis remembered her grammy wooing over a plush new couch that she ordered online. she's been needing new furniture after her crazy chihuahua dog chew up the leather.
"oh, it's lovely," grammy gushed. "you'd love it dear. it's very soft and neat. even princess loves it."
"princess scares me."
"but princess is just a sweet old pie."
"i beg to differ, grammy," she laughs, remembering how the old chihuahua nearly bit off her finger once. "how have you been?"
"oh, you know me," grammy chuckles. "same old same old. however, i did beat joe in that golfing competition i told you about. his arrogant ass got showed down, you should've seen his face."

"oh, pish posh, i already know at your age how much cussing is said. anyways, how have you been, dumpling?"
"same old same old," mavis grinned, mimicking her grandma's response. "rosalie took me on a trip with some friends to crane beach. it was tons of fun, i can send you pictures."
"well, that sounds like fun." something clattered in the background of the call, indicating that grammy was currently doing the dishes. "is it the same group of friends with faith and the other two young men?"
