A couple of hours had passed, and Emile was now a prisoner and had been put in a tent with Gabrielle. She had blades surrounding her so that if she moved one bit, she would be sliced, they were placed precisely. They had also put a ring of heaters around her, to dry her out of using her powers, it was effective considering Vanessa had injured her. This was the first moment they were left alone since they had arrived. "You okay?" he asked her, concerned about her as she looked immensely dehydrated. "I'm okay. What are you going to do?" She asked him "Nothing, I don't even know your name. How could I be working with you?" Emile told her lightheartedly, she laughed with what energy she had remaining. "There's a girl here, a captain. Lola. She has a power of persuasion. Everything you know she'll be able to get out of you" He said with a worried look on his face "I can stall her though" Emile told her, which caused Gabrielle to go into deep thought "It's okay. I've got one more trump card up my sleeve. They won't get anything from me. They will not get anything from me" She seemed sure. "What about me? When do I get to know your story?" He asked looking over at her, she glanced back at him "You were meant to find out. Now I'm not so sure it's going to go that way anymore" She looked sad, disappointed at the thought of it."I still feel like the fact, you're here, alive. It's not the end. I need you to do something for me if the worst happens" She said to him, she was always so cryptic and he could never understand her.
"Give me your name and I'll take care of it," he said, turning her head with a hint of disbelief. He smirked and replied, "I'm serious. I can't assist you if I don't know who you are." "Gabrielle," she quickly responded. "My name is Gabrielle. I'm 21 and I come from a small village in France." She spoke hurriedly, as if in a rush. "Thank you. Now, what do you need me to do?" she whispered, just as Lola entered the room. Lola appeared irritated and went straight to Emile's side. "I can't do anything legit to help you get out of here," Emile looked up at her. "It's alright. Don't do anything not legit," he reassured her. "Stay clean. I'll be fine." Lola questioned, "What the hell is going on, Emile? Are you working with her?" She glanced at Gabrielle, who never once looked up. "Lola? You trust me, right?" Gabrielle quickly snapped back. "Trust you? Emile, I love you. And that's the problem. I don't want it to cloud my judgment." Emile was taken aback. It was the first time she had ever said that to him. "Lola, I love you too. I do. You have to trust me. You have to believe in me like you have been," he pleaded. Lola stared at him deeply for a moment, weighing her options. "Then tell me," she finally said. Emile sighed, "Tell you what?!" "Tell me what you were doing with her. Vanessa said she saw you coming from a fire exit. When she questioned you, you seemed suspicious. She followed you and ended up in some tunnel. She found a frozen generator, with ice all over the floor as if something had been frozen and destroyed." Emile glanced at Gabrielle, and she looked back at him, shaking her head. Emile had a decision to make. Would he tell Lola the truth or protect the woman he believed was here for a reason?
"Lola I don't know what to tell you. It's just a coincidence. Vannesa's been out to get me from the moment she met me" Emile said as convincingly as he could but Lola saw through his facade. . "I can't believe you're protecting her," she exclaimed, hurt evident in her voice. "I've been here for you, believing in you, willing to do anything to help. Why won't you let me in? I deserve the truth, don't I?" Lola's words were filled with emotion, and Emile felt a pang of guilt. "Oh please, I've got a headache," Gabrielle said interrupting. Emile shook his head, annoyed at her for getting involved. "Lola. If you believe in me, just trust that I know what I'm doing okay? I can't tell you anything, because I don't have a reason" Lola shook her head at him, turned around, and walked out "Why would you say that?" Emile said to Gabrielle in a stern voice, he was beyond annoyed at her "Don't get all bossy with me. I can say what I want. I helped anyway, she was about to cry then you would've felt bad and told her some useless information when in reality you know nothing. It's funny because they don't believe you. But you know nothing" she chuckled as she finished her sentence, Emile didn't say anything. He was annoyed at the whole situation. Emile was torn between Lola and Gabrielle, unsure of how to proceed. Lola's departure left him questioning his choices. Gabrielle's words pissed him off, but Emile remained silent, lost in his thoughts. The situation had become more complicated than he ever imagined.
