"Rowan, Rhys, Ram, get down right this instant!" I yelled at my five-year-old triplets.
When I said I wanted a big family, I didn't mean to have three at once.
They were the spitting image of their father, except for the eyes. They got my blue eyes, and I loved every inch of them with my whole heart. They were angels most of the time, but they tended to climb the tree behind the house when Izan was not home. "Get down, or I'm calling Papa," I threatened, already dialing his number.
They thought I was bluffing, but their eyes widened when I put it on speaker. "Everything's alright, amor?" he asked since I didn't call him unless it was an emergency. However, I was having contractions today, and I couldn't deal with three troublemakers on my own.
I knew I still had a day or two, so I didn't want to tell him and make him worry about a false alarm.
"Everything's fine if the boys get down from the tree," as I said that, the triplets jumped down and pretended to sleep on the grass. "You know what, never mind." I chuckled at their positions, took a quick picture, and sent it to Izan.
"They look like angels, but I know better," he commented when he opened the message. "Are you feeling anything though? You're due any day now," he asked, worry laced in his tone.
"I'm okay. Our girl is just taking her time," I replied and rubbed my stomach. We agreed to adopt two children once our baby girl turned one. I wasn't joking when I said I wanted a big family. "By the way, I'm donating the blue car. Just because it reminded you of my eyes doesn't mean we should have it! We already have enough."
"Do whatever you want, amor." He learned not to argue with me, especially while pregnant. "I'll be home in an hour. Hang tight and tell the boys no ice cream if they misbehave."
"Okay, I love you."
"I love you, amor." He hung up, and I stared at my pride and joy.
"Boys, can you help me water the garden at the entrance?" I asked with a smile. "Your dad won't get you ice cream if you misbehave," I added, and they jumped from their place and ran toward me, fighting along the way.
Rowan held my left hand, Rhys my right hand, and Ram pushed me gently from behind. "Easy there," I warned. They were too energetic for my heavy body.
We walked to the front, not expecting to see a guest. A young girl admiring the blue car. "Hi there," I called to grab her attention, and she jumped, startled and seemingly afraid.
"Oh, I'm so sorry for trespassing. I'm not someone shady! I just spotted the car across the street and couldn't help but admire it! I'll go now. Again, I'm sorry!"
She is my jackpot for the day.
Before she could walk away, I called out to her. "Wait a minute," I walked as fast as I could with my wobbly legs, and my boys hid behind me, acting all shy and innocent.
Little Rascals.
They can be successful actors.
"Yeah?" She was nervous. She probably thought I would call the cops. If it was a normal household, then yeah, they might have called the police, but we were far from being normal.
I was married to a mafia boss.
"Do you have a license?" I asked, and she frowned. I was probably losing it, but I could no longer stare at this car. I needed it gone, and since Izan would not return it...
