WHERE DID YOU GO AMELIE, AMELIE, AMELIE? WHERE'D YOU GO? OR WERE YOU ALL IN A DREAM AMELIE, AMELIE?
I DON'T KNOW
━ amelie, gracie abramsQUINN PARTRIDGE left behind the familiar streets of London at sixteen and moved to the bustling heart of New York City. It was a city that captured her spirit almost immediately—the towering buildings, the constant rush of life. She fell in love with it, with the way it felt like anything could happen at any moment. But even as she soaked up the energy of her new home, a part of her still missed London, its rainy mornings and old, winding streets.
She had come to New York with her younger brother, Louis, who was just beginning to taste the glittering world of fame. It was his acting career that had pulled them across the ocean in the first place—he was on the cusp of something big, and New York seemed like the right place to grow into that. But as his name started to buzz, Quinn noticed how the spotlight was already beginning to change him. Fame had a way of doing that.
Quinn loved her brother, though, and she did everything she could to support him. She helped him prepare for interviews, ran through his lines with him late into the night, all while managing her own schoolwork. It was a lot, but she didn't mind. She thrived on keeping things together, and, in some ways, it made her feel closer to Louis, like they were a team against the fast-paced world.
In the following months, their lives became a blur of flights between New York and LA. Louis had meetings, auditions, and red carpets to attend, and though he loved the rush of it all, it wore him down too. Eventually, he returned to London, needing the comfort of home, while Quinn made a different choice. She stayed in Los Angeles. The city had grown on her, with its sprawling beaches and palm-lined streets. It wasn't London, but in some strange way, it felt like where she was supposed to be.
She enrolled in an all-girls school, just like the one she had attended back in London. There was something comforting about it, something that reminded her of home, even though she was halfway across the world. Quinn had always been the kind of person who could light up a room, and she quickly made friends. She was bubbly and outgoing, talking to anyone and everyone, and her infectious energy drew people in effortlessly. Parties became part of her life, as did modeling gigs that seemed to come out of nowhere, as though the city itself was opening doors for her.
Amidst all the new faces, though, there was one girl who stood out: Gracie. They weren't best friends—not even close, really—but whenever they talked, Quinn felt something stir inside her, something deep and unspoken. It was as if Gracie had unlocked a part of her soul she hadn't even known existed. And though Quinn never mentioned this feeling to anyone, she carried it with her, a quiet secret that felt strangely comforting.
