Charlie

(Dreaming) [Another extermination came to pass and the turf wars are breaking out throughout the nine circles. The light of fires raging outside flickered through the hotel windows, red and golden lights danced on every surface inside as they shined through the stained glass. The sounds of destruction and screams filled the air as chaos ripped through every corner of hell. I tried to call my mother but she still wasn't answering her phone, and there was no use calling my father, he thinks my feelings about these wayward souls are misguided. A silent tear streamed down my cheek and my heart ached at the thought of all my people suffering and dying at the hands of the so-called holy ones. How is this fair? I thought. Why can angels do whatever they please and remain in heaven but we are cast down to hell only to suffer until they slaughter us all? What if that's what happened to my sweet mother? Who am I going to lose next? The tears now spilled from my eyes, dripping onto my red suit pants. I sniffled and quickly wiped them away in an effort to hide my grief as I heard a light knock on my office door.]

I woke up with a start, my eyes pricked with tears. I shook my head and gently ruffled my messy blonde curls. A knock on my bedroom door urged me to get out of bed. Huh... I thought I dreamt that knock. I rubbed my eyes and yawned as I made my way to the door. I opened it to see Alastor looming in the doorway, a smile stretched across his features and his eyes showed a hint of annoyance.

"Ohh, Alastor!" I said somewhat surprised he was the demon waking me this morning. I smiled feeling more awake now. "Good morning!"

"Good morning my dear!" Alastor leaned forward, his hands clasped behind his back, his red eyes glanced me up and down before meeting my eyes again. "This won't do! Get ready princess, I think it prudent that you join us downstairs."

A tinge of worry crept into my heart as he straightened out, tapped his mic staff on the floor, and spun around in one fluid motion before making his way towards the stairs. I cleared my throat and tried not to worry about what might be wrong. "I'll be right down!"

I quickly got dressed in my usual suit and threw up my hair in a loose flowy ponytail. I hurried out of my room and down the grand staircase towards the lobby where Angel and Vaggie were arguing and it was starting to get a little heated. Niffty bounced around them excitedly and Husk watched on at the bar enjoying a drink. That's when I noticed Alastor standing idly by in the corner interest and annoyance dancing in his eyes, his lips curled into a sinister, never faltering smile.

"Woah! Stop it you two!" I shouted as I pushed my way between them. " Vaggie, what's going on?"

"What's going on?! This fucking idiot is at it again!" Vaggie fumed and glared daggers at Angel. "He brought a client back to the hotel, got shitfaced, and trashed the lobby!"

"I-is this true, Angel?" I said turning to Angel, he stood with his arms crossed and another set on his hips. I shook my head, "Please tell me you're not bringing work home with you."

"Sorry toots, it's my job!" Angel just shrugged and turned to make his way to the bar. He waved his hand dismissively, "Tiny cleaned up the mess and no one got hurt, so what's the problem?"

Vaggie growled next to me, I held my hand on her shoulder to calm her but also to keep her from getting any closer to Angel. Vaggie glared at Angel and gripped her spear tighter, "I'm gonna kill him."

"Relax Vaggie. I-it's okay..." I said as calmly as I could, I rubbed her shoulder gently with my thumb, "I'll take care of this."

Vaggie's expression softened and she lowered her weapon, "Okay hon, but if he does this shit again-"

I placed my hand on her cheek and sighed, "I know, I know... let me handle this, please."

I made my way over to Angel who was now sitting at the bar with a drink and harassing an uninterested Husk. I cleared my throat and touched Angel's shoulder to get his attention. He turned to me, smirked, and raised an eyebrow, "Sorry blondie, I only do men."

What? Fuck no. He gently took my hand off his shoulder and dropped it. I just shook my head and turned him on the bar stool he was sitting on, "Ahem... no, Angel. We need to talk."

Alastor

I silently watched from the shadows as Charlie and Angel spoke at the bar. Angel got up, downed his drink, and set the glass on the bar top.

"Alright toots, you want some alone time with me?" He ran his hands along his body and leaned in closer to Charlie. He grabbed her face and whispered almost inaudibly, "Fine, but it'll cost you extra."

I narrowed my eyes in annoyance and disgust at his display.

"N-n-no! I just need to talk to you!" Charlie waved her hands in front of her, her face was flushed and she was clearly flustered. She brushed off her neat red tux and adjusted her posture, "Follow me, please."

"Whatever blondie." Angel stood back up, crossed his arms, and followed her quietly to her office.

The agitated moth demoness sat in her solitude and pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration. I hummed merrily as I strolled over to the testy female and I settled down in a red velvet armchair near her.

"What do you want shitlord?" she greeted me with hostility. A pleasure as always...

"Ohh nothing in particular my dear. Just pondering a few things." I gave her a sideways glance and grinned wider.

"Whatever." She spat back, "I don't want to know or care about what's on your sick mind."

I gave out a static-filled chuckle, "Whatever do you mean? I am simply wondering what they are doing up there in her office, alone."

The she-demon rose to her feet, "Fuck you Alastor!"

Oops, struck a nerve! My sinister smile deepened and my shadow silently followed as she rushed to Charlie's office.

"Ohh yeah baby, I can do that!" Angel's voice was heard through the door. "Whatever yah want!"

Vaggie slammed the office door open and brandished her spear just under Angel's chin, "Maldita puta! What did you do to Charlie?!"

"Woah! Woah! Vaggie!" Charlie touched her hand and her grip relaxed a bit. "I'm fine! We were just talking about his work and keeping clients out of the hotel."

"Are you sure you're alright?" Vaggie glared at Angel before turning her gaze to Charlie. Charlie nodded and gently pushed her hand down to move the sharp spear away from Angel's throat. Vaggie sighed, "Okay, I was just worried... I'm sorry."

Charlie's face fell, "I'm fine, could you please just trust me? Please?"

Angel let out a sigh of relief as the spear fell. He stood up, brushed himself off, ran his fingers through his hair, and made his way out of the office. "I need a fucking drink."

My shadow returned to me. Hmmmm, how interesting... I thought with a chuckle.
