Nothing is permanent in this world. I would be gone too one day, Ava." Papa laughed after saying that.
I scoffed. "Then i'll follow you in heaven too."
he Smiled and patted my head with care. But sadness were visible in his eyes. "I don't think I'll go to heaven"
I rolled my eyes. "Come on, Why are you acting like you're dying?"
He chuckled. "You are right, I'm being dramatic. I want to live 5 year more."
"Why?"
"Because I want to see your children." He smiled.
"I'm not gonna have children in 5 years. You've to live 20 year more to see them"
He frowned."20 Year is too much. You should get married soon."
"No, I've different plans papa. I wanted to marry someone I love."
He shook his head in disappointment. "Just find a good man and marry him" He said firmly.
I scoffed and didn't say anything after that. I didn't want to argue with him on this marriage topic.
A tear dropped from my eyes. I didn't know that it would be my last conversation with him. He knew that he didn't have much time left.
But how could this happen? He had heart disease but after the surgery he was fine. He was fine when last time i met him.
I shook my head, tried hard to control my tears. I didn't want to be weak, especially on his funeral. "Nothing is permanent in this world. I would be gone too one day"
His words came into my mind again. "I'll follow you in heaven too" i mumbled. I looked at the empty chair near window. Papa's chair. He used to sit on this chair and look out of window when His mind was full of thoughts.
"Good bye papa. I'll join you in heaven soon" I said and wiped my tears with the back of my hand.
I stood up from cold floor. I walked to the backyard. So many people were there. Relatives, businessman and some people whom I didn't met before.
I looked at the photo of papa. He had a smile on his face. He choose this photo for his funeral 2 months ago. I was so angry that he was eager to die.
"He is looking really happy in this photo" I turned my head to another side. Uncle Ryan was beside me. He Smiled at me.
Uncle Ryan was Papa's friend. I knew him for very long time. Uncle Ryan were sad too but he wasn't showing it.
I nodded. "He chose this photo by himself for his funeral."
Uncle Ryan chuckled sadly. "He's unbelievable." I nodded.
I heard Someone's laugh. I turned around and saw Alex laughing with his Friends. Alex was The eldest son of Arthur winston. On other side, The daughter of arthur winston, Lily was showing her expensive bag to her Friends.
'Is this a funeral?' I thought. Then Alex's Friend hugged and congratulated him. "Congratulations bro, You're going to be next Chairman soon" Alex Smiled proudly.
"Everyone is looking so happy." I said.
"Not everyone." Uncle Ryan said. Yes. Not everyone. I was the one who was devastated.
"I'm orphan again uncle. I've no one now." I whispered. My vision became blurry when tears filled into my eyes again. I was trying hard to control them.
He patted my back. "Be Strong Ava. Everything will be fine." He said and left.
Be strong Ava. "Be strong ava" I said to myself.
