Nelena
"Are you staying at the Aria too?" I asked in excitement as we walked nearer to the extravagant hotel I was staying at with Kali for the next fourteen days.
In spite of the excitement burning within my body, there was an unmistakable sense of uncertainty brewing alongside my newfound high at finding this man and the possibility this night held. I mean, Kade Wright was Mr. Gorgeous on a stick. Any woman would be thrilled to know she'd be spending the night with him – and that he would be taking care of her all night long. I was thrilled; I really was. But I was also feeling a small ounce of that annoying thing we all call hesitation. I mean, I'd cherished my purity for a long time – twenty-three years to be precise. I'd spent my life dreaming about giving myself to one man and one man only – my husband.
Yet, here I was walking the streets of Vegas beside a man who intended on taking me home and taking care of me all night long – and there was no part of me that possessed the ability to walk away from him, hesitation be damned. Hell, I knew walking wouldn't get me very far. If I ever wanted to escape this addictive man with the hypnotic blue eyes and breath-catching grin, I would have to be running fast and hard. If I were to desire to escape all that was Kade Wright, I would have to run like the entirety of Hell were chasing me, because I had a feeling that if I slowed for even a moment, he would catch me. His powerful arms would ensnare me and I would forever be lost to him.
"I'm not staying at a hotel." His deep voice broke the barriers of my thoughts. "I live here.""You live in Vegas?" I blinked, gazing in awe around the brain-stimulating city of lights and nightlife. I couldn't imagine anyone actually being so immune to all the flashing lights, music, and over-indulged opulence to actually live here. "Seriously?"
Squeezing his hand around mine, he quirked a small grin. "Very serious."
"Isn't that – oh I don't know exhausting?"
"If you allow it to be exhausting."
"Oh," I nodded, not understanding at all. There was one thing I knew without a doubt; I could never live in Vegas. "Well, where are we going then?"
"Right here." He pointed to the building stretching into the sky and I felt my mouth pop at the tilted pillars that were the Veer Towers. These towers were freaking architecture magic – and this man with the hypnotic blue eyes and obsidian hair lived here! Never in my wildest fantasies had I thought, for even one moment, that I would meet someone who lived within these angled walls.
"Holy crap!" I tried to maintain as much class as possible as I peeled my slacked jaw from the concrete beneath my heels. "You live here? These are, like, really expensive."
"I have a roommate." He offered as though that were an explanation."But I thought you were a dancer?" I mumbled again. "I didn't think dancers,"
I sealed my lips, realizing once again that I was being rude a little too late.
Kade didn't seem to mind, because as we passed the front desk, he chuckled. "I do well enough for myself, Red."I stepped into the elevator with Kade's hand still holding mine tight and tipped my head back to look into his hypnotic cobalt eyes. "Why do you keep calling me Red?"
"Your lips." He answered without pause – and I watched as his eyes dropped from my eyes, to my lips, before moving even lower to the swell of my chest. "Your red bra doesn't help dissuading me either." He added huskily. "I've been wanting to know all damn night if your panties match."
Holy wow – was I ready for this? "Um,"
He pressed a finger to my lips, shaking his head slightly. "No telling. I'll unwrap you myself."
