The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the caravan. I woke up, feeling excited about the day ahead with Main, Jess, and Lara. As I got out of bed, I turned the kettle on and grabbed my phone to see if Main had messaged me yet.
"Strange," I said to Lara. "What is it?" she asked. "Main hasn't messaged yet," I replied.
"Mia, he is probably still sleeping or fishing or something. You have to relax a bit!"
I knew she was right. I hardly knew the guy, yet we had shared our first kiss, and it just felt so special.
As I sipped my tea and looked out at the waves, I couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. Lara and I finished our tea and decided to go to the cafe to get some ice cream.
As we walked by the park, there was Main! But... why would he be sitting alone?I walked up to him, and hugged him from behind. "Hi stranger, are you okay?" I asked. Main looked up at me, and just shook his head. "What's wrong?" I asked, and went to sit down next to him on the swing.
"My dad said I am not allowed to see or spend time with you anymore. He thinks that you are too young for me, and this is just a holiday fling," Main said.
My heart felt like it was aching at the words. "Why would he say or think that?"
"Mia! The holiday is almost over, then we both have to go back to our lives. You are still in school, and I have to start college next year - it just won't work," Main said, his voice tinged with sadness.
"This isn't up to your dad, Main, but if you wish it," I said, my voice trembling with emotion.
This hurt real bad. I just turned around and walked away.
