but just as kehlani was gonna send another text she received one. she internally cursed herself for not being able to lie better. this whole situation could've been avoided if she was a good liar. she didn't even need to check who the message was from, she knew it was him. with a sigh she looked at the closed bathroom door. her only hope for help with this conversation was in the bathroom singing her heart out in the shower.
she picked up her phone and opened the text trying to mentally prepare herself for this.

after the conversation kehlani shut off her phone. she had tears rolling down her cheeks that she didn't realize were there until now. she reached up and wiped them away, just as she heard the door to the bathroom open. amyah stepped out of the bathroom and immediately noticed the sad vibe coming from her friend.
"lani what's wrong" amyah asked while approaching the bed her friend is sitting on. "why is he just always there it's like he's everywhere i go i just needed peace just this one time free of him" kehlani said, pulling her knees up to her chest.
amyah sighed. she instantly knew who kehlani was talking about. so she sat on the bed against the headboard where kehlani sat and scooted towards her.
"i know it's hard lani but it'll get better eventually you'll learn how to be unbothered by his presence" amyah said looking at the wall in front of them.
kehlani looked at her best friend and leaned her head on her shoulder.
"i know myah, i'm not usually this bothered by him but my mom called cherie. she told him i was here then he texted me and it was just so overwhelming seeing all of our old text messages how good we used to be together and remembering how he threw that all away for valerie. Then having to hold a conversation with him it was all just too much. i miss him. I know i shouldn't but i do" kehlani said all in one breath.
amyah took a second to process what she had just said then she sighed as she spoke "it's ok to miss how you guys were before it's normal. but it's important to remember that you did the right thing. he cheated on you so you left him. no matter what the reason for his cheating was, he shouldn't have done it. and i know you're wondering why he did it and maybe if you're ready now could be your time to talk to him and get closure so you can move on and if you're not ready or don't want to that's okay too"
kehlani looked at her friend and gave a small smile before saying "what would i do without you myah, you're like my big sister"
amyah laughed a little then said " i don't know you'd probably be working at mcdonalds as ronald mcdonald or something dumb like that."
kehlani looked at her friend in mock offense. " i would not, i look hideous in yellow," she said in a posh voice.
amyah just laughed and rolled her eyes then said "whatever, go get ready we have to leave in like an hour"
kehlani just laughed while getting her stuff and going to the bathroom.
