A Fresh Start

The next morning, a half asleep Burchard sluggishly gets ready for school while occasionally taking a sip from his cup of coffee. He yawns as he walks to the front entrance then says to himself, "I'm so tired.... I just wanna go back to bed."

After putting his shoes on, he goes to open the door but before he could, he hears a knock. Confused as to who that could be though he does have a feeling as he opens the door while asking, "hello?"

Not exactly to his surprise, he finds Yuzuru standing at his door with a smile while saying, "greeting: good morning Burchard."

He smiles back while responding, "good morning. Is there a reason you're at my door?"

Though she continues to smile, her cheeks turn a bit blushed, and she starts to sway back and forth with her hands behind her back while asking, "suggestion: yuzuru was wondering if you'd like to walk with her to school?"

Though he tried his best to hide it, he couldn't help but enjoy her adorable display but deciding it was best to answer instead of indulging himself further, he replies with a smile, "sure."

Though he didn't understand why, hearing this causes her to beam with joy while responding, "confirmation: then shall we go?"

He slings his bag over his shoulder then replies, "let's."

Now outside, they casually walk down the street but noticing someone missing, he looks over while asking, "where's your sister?"

Surprised by the question, and becoming slightly suspicious, she asks, "curiosity: why?"

He simply shrugs in response while saying, "just figured since she goes to the same school that she'd walked with us."

She thinks over his answer for a moment but deeming it acceptable, she responds saying, "confirmation: she had to leave early to attend to some personal matters."

They continue to walk while he seems to take some extra time to think about this for some reason until finally saying, "ah, makes sense."

Though he couldn't help but glance behind them while thinking, "then why is she tailing us?"

Just like he thought, Kaguya was currently hiding behind a telephone pole a few dozen feet behind them and snickering to herself while whispering, "keh-keh-keh, from back here I can safely watch over their walk without being spotted!"

As Kaguya continues to more or less stalk the two from a distance, she starts to notice something, and with her cheeky grin slowly changing to an annoyed frown, she thinks, "there just talking!"

Just as she was thinking, Burchard and Yuzuru simply walked and talked without doing much else, which seems to only annoy her more while thinking, "come on guys! Do something interesting! Try holding hands, brush her loose hair back, take him to a love hotel! You don't have to be much but at least do something!"

To her dismay, nothing of note happens as they get closer to school which only annoys Kaguya even more but when she looks ahead of them and sees a bucket of water on the side of the road, a devious idea comes to mind as she thinks, "keh-keh-keh. That's perfect!"

Meanwhile, Burchard continues to ignore Kaguya and instead focuses on Yuzuru while asking, "so how long have you lived here?"

After a brief pause, she simply shrugs then replies, "reply: not long, Yuzuru and her sister only moved here a few weeks ago."

A bit surprised, he says, "oh? Then where are you from originally?"

She was caught off guard by his question especially since she had never really thought about that and with a gentle breeze blowing by her feet, she has to think hard about her answer until finally saying, "reply: uh, well...."
