Jungkook had absolutely no idea how fast his heart could beat.
Well now he did, because he was outside Lalisa's dressing room. Or maybe it was because of that picture she posted. Or maybe.. maybe it was just her. The 'maybe's would never end, just like his nervousness, though.
It's just a dinner, right? And it's me who asked her to be my date, so I shouldn't even be nervous in the first place.
But it's her.
The door opened, revealing her in that black, green, and white floral dress. Although her expression remained hostile, he couldn't get over how goddamn pretty she looked. With a sharp intake of his breath, he extended his arm to give her the flowers.
Lalisa seemed to be taken aback at his gesture. She hesitantly took the flowers from his tattooed hand.
Sunflowers.
Right. When does he ever forget anything?
"Specially from Halmeoni's garden," He said, smiling proudly. Lalisa fought the urge to smile at the way he was acting. She grabbed his arm, pulling him away from the dressing room, and leading him somewhere. Somewhere discreet? God knows. Her brain is something else, and as much as he loves it, he couldn't help but feel confused.
"Yah, are you adultnapping me or something? Mind you, I have full secu—" His words were cut off as Lalisa pulled him into a dark room, slamming the door shut.
"I told you I could meet you at the event itself, didn't I?" She said sternly, as if scolding him.
"How was I gonna give you the flowers then?" He sulked, looking at the sunflowers in her hand.
Lisa sighed. There was no way she could convince this damn adult-baby to be just a little bit less extra. His security, her own, and the media or sasaengs lurking around here and there weren't the only reasons she didn't want him to be on her freaking photoshoot set.
She didn't want to get her heart broken twice. And that too, by the same guy.
"Okay," She took a deep breath. "Let's get out of here fast, alright?"
Lisa turned around to leave, but Jungkook caught her wrist. When somehow Lalisa found herself against the wall, she didn't even know what to think.
About how damn handsome he looks right now, or what would happen if any of the staff members walked in on them?
"Not until I get a thank you, sweetheart," He smiled cheekily, and Lalisa felt the need to slap him so he would at least stop making her feel butterflies in her stomach.
"Fine. Thank you. Can we leave?"
Jungkook just kept smiling, and something about his smile told her that he was definitely up to something.
"What?" Lisa stared at him, crossing her hands. "Need an invitation? Because I believe we're getting late, and it's all on you."
Jungkook's smile deepened, and she saw him chuckle a bit.
Just why did he have to be so charming?
He shook his head a little, as he led the way with Lisa on his side. She awkwardly smiled at the staff members passing by, trying to hide it as she saw them stare curiously at the flowers in her hand and the way Jungkook was protectively walking closer to her.
She sighed out as Jungkook and her finally reached the back exit which lead towards the parking lot. As Jungkook opened the door to his Mercedes-Benz excitedly, Lalisa gulped. He really did look like the happiest bunny ever.
This was going to be one hell of a night, that's for sure.
