So my good friend Momo_S has given me some great ideas for her name and I've decided on Amauria Daemon (pronounced Amoria demon), Mori for short. I quite like it. Thanks buuuuddy! The picture has nothing to do with the chapter unless you make a link and then there is one."And here we go."
School was a drab and I was thankful when I got to walk home with Châron. I enjoyed the company. I just wasn't too thrilled about the destination. I already had one heck of a bruise from yesterday. I'd hidden it under my sweater. Who knew that a person could do so much damage by just grabbing someone's arm. Although to be fair it did feel like a constrictor was slowly and forcefully trying to amputate it.
We got to the little coffee shop and sat down to chat. She kept nudging me to go over and talk to the cute cashier boy who kept looking our way. I was too distracted, looking for my step-father's tacky, worn-out suit. He'd be furious, or more than usual, if he saw me here instead of in the apartment cleaning or making him and his dates' dinner.
Châron got up when her dad's minivan pulled up in front of the building. I always admired Chard, she was always so strong. I guess she had to be with 7 brothers, no sisters, no mom and a soccer coach for a dad. She kind of ruled the roost in her home though. Her siblings and even her father sought her counsel at times. She was almost like a mom for her 2 younger brothers. She was just glad that her 2 oldest brothers, Chad and Charlie, the twins, were leaving for college soon. It meant she'd have two less nuisances in her house of 8 to deal with.
She hugged me good bye and left some cash for the bill on the table. I sighed and got up. In the apartment I cringed. He'd always leave his dirty laundry everywhere for me to pick up. So I got to work.
The door swung open and a sleezy man with a beautiful woman draped on his shoulder strolled in. I called from the kitchen saying that dinner would be on the table in 2 minutes. I'd made spaghetti. I set the plates down in the dining area/ lounge/ bar. Bo, my step father, grunted in response and I caught the Russian woman glaring at me and, in turn, at him.
I left just in time. "You cheap jerk. How dare you treat me like this you sleazy dirtbag. I thought you'd at least take me out on this so called date. But no you get your ratty little servant to make a disgusting peasant's meal. You are not worth my time!" she yelled.
"She's no servant, she's not good enough for that title. She's my ex's child and I was stuck with her. But nevermind that why don't we discuss this in the room?" came his response. There was a moment of stunned silence and a clicking of heals as the woman rushed out the door.
"Natashia come back," Bo called out. Her response came echoing down the hall "Stay away from me you sleeze ball!"
I ran to my room but was not fast enough as Bo ran after me and caught my arm. He yanked me into the living area and threw me to the floor. I fell through the glass table and had a cut running down my arm. I was scared. He was angrier than usual.
He screamed and charged at me, hands outsretched like hungry talons. I rolled to the left earning a few glass shards in my side. He fumed. "You little wench. I'll teach you to make a fool out of me." I would've laughed if it weren't for the fact that he might have actually killed me had I not reacted in time.
I scrambled to my feet and raced to my room. I heard heavy stomping following not far behind. Bo was right on my heels when I slammed my door.
I looked around frantically after locking my door. I grabbed my prepacked rucksack with the bare essentials. I was prepared for this... In theory. Now that this situation was here I was too scared to jump. Too scared he'd grab my leg on the way out, or worse, my wing.
It was then that I saw the dark silhouette of a man, well adolescent male to be accurate. He came closer and my heart pounded in its cage. He was gorgeous. He held my shoulder and whispered softly "you're safe now, I'll handle this."
He pushed me behind him as the door was slammed in. Bo's eyes were red with rage, steam could be seen billowing out of his ears. The strange, handsome boy, my saviour looked back at me and gave me a sad look.
He pushed me to the window and yelled "fly Mori!" I did as I was told and jumped off the balcony. The sound of painful grunts and powerful punches followed me to the clouds. I hoped he would be alright.
I landed in Châron's yard and was soon greated by her and her youngest brother Nathaniel. I knew I'd found my temporary sanctuary. I knew I was safe, for now.

Ello. Well here's the first official chapter. It took awhile because I just finished exams and not the silly little unimportant ones, hectic ones that were sent to Cambridge. So here you are. My holiday has technically started so there will be an increase in chapter production. I just wish this was my job, might make life easier but cé la vie.
Love y'all.
