The air was extremely tense, no one dared to speak, waiting for Ao'nungs reply. He looked out the window again, rain pouring hard onto the windows, blurring out the street lights. It looked like as if it was night time but it wasn't. Neteyams hand was still on his shoulders, Ao'nung finding abit comfort from it. He breathes out hopelessly, finally speaking up.
"I was um.. i was getting the bags from inside the gas station-"
"Yeah we know that, you could've just waited for us to drive you there instead you Skxawng," Lo'ak over taked him from talking as neteyam hissed at him to shut up. Ao'nung looked down to his fidgeting hands, ears pinning back. He doesn't know why he's so quiet all of a sudden, especially to that knucklehead. He felt so small, so weak, so useless. He felt like he was forgotten all of a sudden. These thoughts were running all over his head, not hearing the scowls Neteyam would give to Lo'ak. He felt another tear threatning to spill out of his red puffy eyes. Neteyam shaked his shoulders abit, reminding him to continue on.
"I-I was then walking out and ran fast under the rain, b-but when i was near the car, someone pushed me to the ground and they um...."
He takes a small breath in from his rapid talking looking up to them.
"They took my credit card and ran off, that why I um ran out the car coz i was scared if someone was going to steal it." Ao'nung finally admits, feeling the hand on his shoulder move aside, feeling goosebumps when the cold air hits him there. He notices how Roxto hands grips onto the steering wheel while taking a harsh turn on the left. Lo'ak nods his head facing back to the front knees bouncing up and down fast. He didn't dare to look towards Neteyam but he couldn't control his body and ended up glancing at him. Neteyam had such an unreadable expression. His mouth was replace from a soft warm smile to a thin tense line. He balled his fists, eyes never blinking. Ao'nung never seen Neteyam like this ever since the day him and Lo'ak had a fight. But this face, scared Ao'nung even more. Ao'nung sighs resting his head onto the seatbelt, feeling abit uncomfortable from the pain on his head, still feeling lightheaded.
"It's nothing guys don't worry about it." He says quietly, closing his eyes trying to get more comfortable. Lo'ak scoffs, still looking ahead of him.
"After coming back to the car looking fucked up enough, you say that its nothing... Even after getting your card stolen,"
Neteyam doesn't say anything else, sitting back to his seat, not saying another word agreeing to lo'aks statement. Ao'nung doesn't get whats Lo'aks problem but what he doesn't know is how angry Lo'ak really is. He tries not to show by replacing it with a dumb attitude, but deep down he can really care for fishlips anyways.
"Maybe if you didn't want to come to the beach in this stupid weather nothing would've happened," Aonung mumbles as Lo'ak scoffs.
"Maybe if you didn't come with us or ran off like that you would've been alright idiot," He retorts back. Ao'nung would have continued but he didn't feel like doing that this time, he just wanted to rest.
"Im not bothered for this, i'll just transport my card pin to another one and reset it on my phone," He says feeling sleep take over him. Lo'ak was about to speak up again as he heard soft snores, looking back to see Ao'nung fast asleep. He then turns toward Neteyam to see him looking like a different Person. Lo'ak couldn't pin point out what he was feeling but decided not to say anything.
Neteyam felt so bad for him, the way how Ao'nung eyes would tear up again, the bruises that covered his soft tan skin. How can someone so foolish do this to him. All Neteyam could think of right now was to find that person and skin him to death but he knew that was impossible if Ao'nung didn't know how he looked like. He looked to Ao'nung, seeing him still visibly shaking. Thats when he remembered he had Tuks blanket at the front of the car. Tuk gave it to him as a present before he left which Neteyam accepted from her.
"Hey bro, can you pass me the blanket thats infront of you," He asked as Lo'ak picked it up from beside his leg, passing it to him. He then gently puts it on Ao'nungs freezing body, seeing the difference of how calm he went now, snuggling more to the blanket. Neteyam couldn't help but smile at how adorable Ao'nung looked now.
They continued to drive for the rest of the time, the rain getting harder every minutes.
"Lets not go to the beach okay, this weather is seriously not the type for that shit," Neteyam says as Lo'ak clicks his tounge rolling his eyes.
"Fine," He mumbles back.
Roxto finally spoke up, "I honestly do feel bad for Ao, he went through seomething like this years ago and i'm just scared if that triggered his memory about it or something."
Neteyam and Lo'ak looked towards Roxto as he didn't like the tense stare they were giving to him. He quickly came up with something before giving a chance of them to speak.
"BUT, but he ended up getting his revenge with his friends so he is okay, he's okay, i-i'm okay, everyones okay," He rumbles rapidly catching his breath. Neteyam glanced at Ao'nung speaking up,
"If someone dares to touch Ao'nung like this again, i swear to Eywa they will not see the light of day tomorrow," He says in a deathly threat, making Lo'ak nod his head quickly as Roxto swallowed a big lump in his throat, scared at how Neteyams voice went so deep all of a sudden. Lo'aks stomach grumbled, holding his tummy while groaning.
"I'm so hungry cuz, these chips are soaked wet, lets forget about what happened and get something to actually eat. Maybe that could cheer up that lifeless skxawng." He instantly regretted saying that as Neteyam pulled his braids back, jumping from his seat to Lo'aks and arm locked him around his neck. Lo'ak couldn't breath at all, appologising so much as Roxto couldn't help but laugh historically.
"Bro-BRO I-IM SORRY," Lo'ak screams out as he manages to jump at the back seat escaping Neteyams grip. He breathes in heavily massaging his neck from the impact. Neteyam patted his own shoulders feeling proud of Lo'ak giving up on him.
"Ao'nung isn't a skxawng okay, the only skxawng here right now is you bro," Neteyam retorts back as Roxto calms down his laughter, wiping away his tears still giggling.
"Whatever," Lo'ak mumbles, slumping in his chair while getting his phone out to text to Tsireya. The ride was quiet again, Neteyam giving Roxto the address to the resturant, setting up the phone. Lo'ak looked towards Ao'nung, seeing the tears stain his face. Was he seriously still crying while asleep? Lo'ak had the urge to send a pic of Ao to Tsireya, showing her what happened to him since he felt like it was the right thing to do. And thats exactly what he did.....
