I yawned slightly as I began to wake from the sleep I had been enjoying. The sun piercing into my eyes as I shut the blinds so I can look around. I started my day very groggy as my hair was poofed and all in my face, I didnt even attempt to move it, itd be too much a hassle.

I started my venture down the steps to the main room of the house, sitting at the table as my mother made breakfast. I was still half asleep and hadn't heard what she'd been speaking about to my father. My younger brother had way too much energy, I dont understand how the younger kids have so much energy in the mornings its crazy.

"Sissy come play with me!!!" He'd beg as he tugged on my shirt. I stopped him, "Let me eat, and wake myself up a bit, then ill play with you for a little bit, okay?" He nodded and happily ran off to play with his toys. He was tiring but I love the stupid antics he gets to, it's funny sometimes. My dad had just left the house for work, but before starting walking I managed to get his attention to say goodbye. Even if they didn't give me the best attention, I knew they were just trying to make my older brother, whom would be leaving for marriage in the next month, and my younger brother because he was young.

Today had been very slow. My mom and dad were out at work, my older brother was seeing potential spouses. My younger brother was at a daycare so I was home alone, studying. Not studying what we were learning in school as I was academically ahead of everyone else, but not enough to skip a grade. I understood all our material which was good enough for me. I was studying about circus acts, and practicing things I thought I could do with the minimal space I had. I then left my house, walking alone down to the traveling circus thatd been visiting our town. It was interesting to see all the different tents around. I chose to make my way to a fortune teller, making sure to pay. I didnt really believe in the superstitious but I thought it'd be interesting.

After leaving I felt chills running down your spine, what I told was shivering. One of my family members was gonna die, and very soon. I needed to spend as much time with them all as much as I could, but I tried to get my mind off it for the time being. The circus did have fun things going on, but the haunting thought of one of my family members dying was too much. I had moved quickly out of the tent and hid behind one of the edge tents to let it out, crying a lot. I didn't wanna lose my family they mean too much to my life.

I was there for much longer than I expected, and soon I was the last one leaving the circus. My eyes were red and puffy from the crying, but I soon made it out with guidance from the ringmaster, he was a very kind, blonde-haired man named Tonny. That's what he'd told me while comforting my situation. Soon I was back home to find that my older brother and younger were home, they said my mom and dad were on a date, which meant less time for me to see them all, and even less time to figure out who we'd be losing.

I ended up sleeping in my brother's bed, as he chose to just comfort me and not ask too many questions. His bed was comfy.

That next morning, I realized everyone was already gone from the house again, so I'd chosen to just go to the circus again, try to lighten my spirits which wasn't working. I'd been trying this multiple days in a row, and it hadn't been helping. Today was the last day the circus would be here, meaning I wouldn't get to see Tonny for probably another year but I liked being around him. By the time I'd left they were almost done packing their tents and started their machine to get moving. That's when thoughts ran through my head and I'd decided to chase it, and try to see if I could atleast meet Tonny better, he was nice but I just wanna be friends with him.

I've been running awhile, getting tired but it soon had stopped. Not the machine, but my feet. Instead, I felt as air enveloped my body, shivering and terrifying. I'd realized, I was the one to die in my family, and I hadnt left a note behind. I ended up landing soon, and felt as most of my leg bones broke but I was living barely, then, I got crushed under some rocks and the machine began to stop after the driver, Tonny, saw the tragedy and realized who it was, me.

I woke up from a painful nap, in a world of bright yellows and blues. There was a paper infront of me with a quill feather and ink. I began to read. "I _______, hereby agree to join the Anthonin Gremminger Traveling Troupe. To follow its rules and stay at all times. In return for eternal life." I stared in disbelief, but in the blink of an eye, the blank space had been replaced with my name, Charlotte Grencia.

Editor's note: Thank you SO MUCH for reading all 900 and something words, I genuinely worked harder on this more than anything else in my pieces. Please give me tips on what to do better, or what you want to see! Thank you.
