'Aren't you asleep yet Prati?' Uncle finally lifted his head looking straight at me.
Eyebags under his eyes are a lot clear.'And neither are you' I stated looking at the clock...It's almost 3:00 of night. The hustlings of the big city is no more there. Seems like only living beings are just two of us in a almost dark room illuminated by only a single study lamp.
'Wasting those time really worth it...don't worry.' He looked at the clock following my gaze giving a faint smile.
'I finally cracked the code!!!''What code?' I scratched my head. 'And also, forgot to say, that I was actually asleep. It was you who woke me up with that loud noise.'
'Oh! I actually fell with the chair while I got too excited.' He gave a meek look, 'Sorry for that...'
'Apology granted. Now tell me which code. And...you're going straight to bed after that or you'd again get a headache in morning.'
'Well I guess I should get the sleep then...well about the code *yawns...I actually decoded some of the sanskrit in the first page...*yawns. It's actually... *yawns...um...'
*Thump
And it happened...my genius uncle just fell asleep again on his desk. Well I can't call grandpa or grandma now...it's too late. And...about me carrying him to bed? It's impossible...Im not that strong and also it's not like I'm actually interested in doing that. Anyways...I think some back pain would be a bit better than headaches?
I went back to my bed next door. And as an apology for letting him have a back pain...I switched off his study lamp shutting the door of his room.
Okay! I also had a sneak peak on all the roughs he made on the pages. But it's not that helpful...he really has a good handwriting...so it's not that hard to read...but he's been sleeping on some of those very pages.
But still I understood...that book is something written in some unrefined sanskrit...also many metaphors present there...no wonder just one page was so time consuming for him. Also, the battery downed phone indicates...he took help from a lot of place...afterall he's not really some master of it.
And...I don't even know what he's assuming is actually correct, I guess he also realized that. That's why he didn't seem to be as excited as he should be after decoding all these.I don't know why it's hard getting falling asleep.
Maybe I just woke up and of a sudden or maybe I had been thinking about the book. An old cover, dirty in places...yellow pages and...most of them are blank. And the most shocking thing is...there are hardly 10 written pages...I turned aside towards the window...it's hard to see the moon or starts within the pollution of this city.
Above all...the roads are covered in mist...so does my view from 1st floor. And finally, My eyelids are getting heavy...
