"That's actually kind of a nice story." Max says.

I smile and nod.

"I don't wanna pressure you but I want you to know that I bet a 1000 on you getting at least 15 points at your game tonight." Max says.

"I'll double it for you." I say.

"This is exactly why I love you, you always looking for a brother." Max says.

I laugh and he smiles.

"You expecting someone?" Max asks as there's a knock on the door.

"Tate texted me and asked me what dorm I was staying in." I say, getting up.

I open the door and see Tate.

"Hey, Superstar." I say.

"Hey." Tate says.

"You just can't stay away, huh?" I ask.

"I guess not, there's just something about you." Tate says.

I chuckle and she smiles.

"How'd you get into the building without a card?" I ask.

"Some girl unlocked it in exchange for a selfie." Tate says.

I laugh and Tate smiles.

"I got your gift." Tate says.

"Thank you." I say as she hands me a small gift bag.

"You wanna come in?" I ask.

"Sure." Tate says.

I let her in and Max waves.

"Hey, Taint." Max says.

"It's- never mind." Tate says, as I chuckle.

"Open your gift." Tate says.

I open the gift bag and move the paper. I widen my eyes and pull the box out.

"A new phone?!" I ask.

"I felt guilty that I broke your phone last night, so I bought you a new one." Tate says.

"Thank god, this bitch still had Touch ID. Even her 5 year old nephew has Face ID." Max says.

Tate laughs and I roll my eyes.

"Thank you." I say.

Tate smiles and we hug.

"You play basketball?" Tate asks pointing at my folded jersey.

"Yeah, I've got a game tonight." I say.

"Seriously?" Tate asks.

"Mhm." I say.

"Can I come?" She says.

"Uh, you gotta buy a ticket." I say.

"Do I get court side seats?" Tate asks.
