At the Shah's -
"Tanvi, come down right this instant!!" shouted Nita angrily.
"Arey Jaan, kya ho gaya hai, aise kyu chilla rahi ho" Neel asked politely
(Hey darling, what has happened, why are you screaming like that?)
"Neel, jab Apko pata chalega aap bhi chillayenge apni laadli beti par" she continued in her furious tone.
(Neel, when you find out you will also shout at your darling daughter.)
Neel was extremely confused but didn't argue in order to see what his favourite daughter had done that his wife was boiling in fury. Her anger escalated as Tanvi didn't come down even after her mother had yelled at her approximately 23 times.
Neel asked his wife to gain composure and to sit down at the table, also that he would get their daughter, she need not get so tense. That he took the duty upon his shoulders to sort out whatever it was that had happened.
Nita had finally calmed down and her husband was on his way to fetch Tanvi and know what exactly she did that invited this chaos.
*knocks*"Tanvi beta, can I come in?"
"Of course papa, you don't need to knock, it's unlocked." *door opens*
He sees Tanvi sitting on her Art Table, sketching. He takes a seat on the bed and watches his daughter do her work.
Tanvi breaks the silence "kuch hua hai papa?" (has something happened dad?)
"tumhari mummy hui hain, gussa."
both chuckle slightly.
"usme kya naya hai" (what is new in that)
"definitely nothing new but just come down talk with her"
"papa, please. I am not In the mood"
"for my sake, please come down"
"ughhh, fine, only for you though. but you promise me that you will sit there with the both of us and not leave the conversation half way, if you do, ill come back upstairs as well. you know well how mumma will react after i storm out while she is talking. you'll be the one hearing the rants and complaints about your favourite daughter. will you be able to bear that?"
"well, I won't, that goes without saying. I promise to stay there throughout."
"then what are we waiting for, let the volcano erupt sooner than later, I have work to catch up on"
Tanvi gets up from her chair, as does Neel, both of them walk together down the stairs. They notice that Sneha is sitting with Nita, who has now started crying.
(Sneha sees her father and sister)
"Papa what did you do to mumma? is this how you treat your wife?" asks Sneha in a sarcastic and ingenuine tone.
"OH GODDD!!! have you not been listening?? I was talking about your sister not your father!!!" Nita responds hiding her face in her palms as if she was done with the world.
The other three laugh.
"Keep laughing, anyways you three can't do anything else"
Neel sits next to her, gently caressing her arm and shoulder.
"Calm down sweetheart, ive got her now, lets discuss the matter"
"Ask her what she did" she replied irritably
Neel looks at Tanvi.
"I haven't done anything" she claimed defensively
"Your daughter is ridiculous. I set her up on a date with one of my closest friend's son. The boy is extremely rich and intelligent. He had expressed his liking for her to his mother, who approached me. She wanted her son, Raj, to take Tanvi out on a date. I was delighted with the timing since we were also looking for proposals for her since she is coming of age. I told her to give it a shot, she said she will. I asked her specifically to be kind and humble to him, but lord knows when the day would come that she listens to what I say, and does things the way they are supposed to be done."
