Car troubles

Cecilia tied her wavy chestnut hair into a ponytail as the last finishing touch to her road trip outfit. She wore grey joggers and a navy sweater with her school logo on it. With a sigh she headed down the stairs bags in hand to her smiling mother at the bottom.
"You ready to hit the road kiddo?" Asked Kate.

"Yeah it's whatever." Cecilia huffed and heaved her bags towards the front doors.

"I know you're not happy about the sudden trip to your uncles but it's been so long and we have things we need to discuss." Her mother explained.

"Like I said it's whatever. Let's just go, I would rather not have anymore time to just run down the street to Lilly's." Lilly was her best friend and she too wasn't happy with the sudden road trip and they would miss their days out together.

Usually when a 'road trip to her uncles' popped up she'd have to stay for months and transfer for that time so she'd keep up with her education. That's what would make her so miserable about them as she happens to actually like her aunt uncle and cousin.

Beacon hills was new and neither Allison or Cecilia had been there however they'd been messaging on and off and Allison said it wasn't as bad as what she'd thought and she'd actually grasped herself a boyfriend.

The car ride was fairly boring but once she saw the wooden carved beacon hills sign Cecilia came out of her relaxed position sitting up to examine the town she would be staying in for the next month or so. It didn't actually look too bad she thought.

"Hey howcome we've turned down this road? Wouldn't have been easier down the street way?" She questioned looking where her mother had headed.

"No honey I used to live here I know the shortcuts." She reassured her daughter who thought nothing of it and trusted her. Kate turned the radio down and began looking left and right as though she was trying to find something.

"Mom you know I trust you but are you sure, you're looking around a lot and it's setting me on edge."

"Yes I am sure this place can sometimes have squatters that beg for loose change and things so I'm just making sure the close is clear. Settle back hun." Kate smiled and faced the road again.

Suddenly, her mother set the whole car to a halt and reached for a gun in the back seat. A range of thuds were heard above them. The drivers window was smashed and a hand reached for her mom. Cecilia looked at her mother, her eyes laced with curiosity and fear. Without warning she shot the gun straight up the roof of her car. A quiet yelp was released and with that Kate climbed out the car and went to her trunk. She opened it and grabbed something out of one of the many bags and slammed it shut.

"COME AND GET ME YOU BASTARD!" She shouted amused.

"Mom what are you doing!" Cecilia cried climbing out the car herself.

"Get back in the car Cecilia!" Her mother demanded while scaling the buildings around in the eyepiece of her sniper.

"What the hells that?!" Cecilia yelled and a loud bang was released from the gun and the human like figure tumbled down into darkness. "Mom you just shot him oh my god!"

"It wasn't a him Cecilia. That was an animal that's been wiping out your uncles people. Why do you think he called me? I work with animals for a living." And then she pulled her phone out and called her brother, Cecilia's uncle.

He arrived around twenty minutes later with a duffel bag of weapons. They had an 'adult conversation' then he took their car to get fixed.

The mother and daughter got a lift back to the argents new home which was a big White House. It was gorgeous. Her uncle showed Cecilia and Kate to the 2 guest bedrooms and left Cecilia to get settled in whilst they had yet another adult conversation. She was already getting sick of that term and was intrigued as to what they were discussing.

She placed her bags beneath her bed and climbed into the 4 poster double. The wavy headed mousy blonde laid her head on her pillow and fell asleep after an exhausting day.
