It was missing, a of lack temperature, of feeling, of moisture, of something... you hadn't been sure what it was but it was lacking, sorely. You were formless for a moment, unable to manage a shudder when warm gentle hands began to work you into shape stretching, pinching, pulling at you.
A breath was drawn and your eyes fluttered open watery and dull, just barely registering how warm those lukewarm fingers felt as they smoothed over your face. "What's that?" A voice came followed by a cold finger gingerly poking at you. You squirmed, hissing weakly as it was batted away. "I'm not sure, but" a breathy voice murmured, warm hands lifted you "I think I like it" unseen eyes narrowed at the statement and a masked face came to sight, leaning in curiously "You like this―thing? More than me? Neith, I'm hurt" the face exasperated leaning back with it's hand on hips, the face had a body.
"We are of the same divine waters, Khnum, I made this―" the hands cupping your form jerked upward in emphasis "―naturally I would like it more" Neith retorted. Lowering her hands to look down on you "Yes, I like this one, not birthed and of my own hands." She murmured, lips pulling into a gentle smile "I don't think it's breathing" she scoffed looking up to the other, only to squint down at you "Oh..." She shrugged, setting you onto her lap gently "I haven't gotten that far with it" she dismissed the error waving off the face Khnum had made "I've many things to do"
Khnum snorted "Doing what?"
――――――
Wide unblinking eyes watched over the river of chaos, the waters seem calm despite the name. There's a brief flash of light, a glow shone from beneath the surface followed by a head peeking out as the water receded to form a hill.
The figure stood there for a moment, body shifting between forms and settling on a tall decently muscled androgenous figure, long wet black hair cascading down the shoulders and to the ankles. Their back was turned to you and you hummed lowly, sinking down into the wet sand.
A warm hand brought you up to greet with a smile "Apep" she voiced, holding you to meet her eyes. Neith had shrunk, gotten smaller, weaker as she bled her Ba into the waters surrounding them. She had already passed blessing to others, those who had yet to be made and those who were made before her. The hand holding you trembled under your weight so you slithered off, coiling around her arm and settling across her shoulders
"will you die?"
She hummed, watching as the androgenous figure held a hand out curiously, a thick molten liquid pooled in their palm, weighing it down slightly as it gushed. Falling to the floor and pilling at their feet, the waters rippled with each thick plop. The new god lowered themselves, poking at the molten pile as it cooled slowly. Neith had now lost interest in watching as the god fashioned two disks then a chain dunking them into the waters beneath them to cool.
"I will not die"
She responded in a low hoarse tone, her head lowered with a smile "My Ba and Ka are the waters that surround us." The self birthed god in the distance had now settled onto the floor, sitting cross legged as they made more with the molten gold.
Your jaw clenched with a small nod, focus switching between her and the god tinkering below "I will simply return to what I once was, part of what makes the fabrics of our existence" your attention left the new god completely when you realized that Neith had shrunken again, you could no longer rest across her shoulders comfortably "And your physical form?" You questioned moving off her shoulders to the water when her hand pressed down, palm up.
"It shall merge with the waters I had been made from" you moved down the expanse of her arm, just barely brushing the tip of her fingers when her hand plunged into the waters, coming back up with a sputtering red organ. You watched as the blood coming from it turned transparent, making small ripples against the waters as it dripped into.
