Damilola Aaliyah Danesi: 17
Baltimore, MarylandI wake up with a throbbing headache, before glancing around the room.
My clothes tossed all over the room, makeup scattered on the vanity, and empty champagne bottles on the table.
I groaned, dragging myself out of bed. I packed my luggage, trying to ignore the pounding in my head.
I folded my clothes and neatly arranged them in my suitcase.
My mind wandered back to yesterday's moment with Tiwa—every detail was vivid and clear.
We were sitting so close, I could feel her breath against my skin. Our eyes locked and dead ass about to kiss, but no!...my aunt ruined the moment.
I zipped up my suitcase, grabbed my keys and popped open the luggage handle.
Stepping inside the elevator, I pressed the button for the lobby.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon greeted me.
I walked toward the hotel's dining area for breakfast. I spotted my friends already seated at a table.
"Over there!" Deja called out, waving me over.
"Good morning!" I made my way over to them, a smile spreading across my face as I caught sight of Tiwa.
Her eyes lit up as she caught sight of me, I pulled out a chair next to her.
My friends were already digging into their plates of pancakes and eggs..stingy ass motherfuckas.
"Did you sleep well?" She nudged me, I just smiled and nodded.
"Why you acting all shy for?" She reached across the table to steal a piece of bacon from my plate.
"I'm not!" I scoffed, swatting her hand away gently. "Hey! stop taking my shit."
"Relax!—stop being stingy," She scooch closer to me.
"You know what? fine! I'll just take your pancakes—Give me yours" I held my hand out, as she sighed, passing her plate to me.
"So, what's this important thing you guys have to tell us?" Ayo asked with a sly look on her face, as she took a sip of her coffee.
I had told Tiwa the gist of Temi and Imani's situationship and we all had suspected for weeks that there was something going on between them, despite their attempts to keep it under wraps.
Temi and Imani exchanged a brief look before Temi took a deep breath, "Well, we've been meaning to tell you all... umm... we're dating."
Imani nodded in agreement," Yeah, it just kind of happened, you know?"
