(Third person)As the group pulled up and left the van everyone felt uneasy not just the fact that they were in a dark graveyard-like place, with a hill with a huge hole in the middle with gates. The torches on each side lighting up the whole area. They all knew that the group wasn't complete without Taylie here. The car ride over here was silent. No one felt like speaking was a good idea Alec didn't feel right with the whole thing. One they were breaking so many clave rules but they didn't even take a second to understand why Taylie was so upset. Her sister just threw in her face that they weren't actually really sisters which had to hurt. He knew that had to hurt more than anything. Isabelle was upset that Taylie wasn't around; she knew that she left when Taylie probably needed her the most.
Clary was more worried about the silent brothers than Taylie and everyone in the group knew that and it hurt them that she felt that way. Simon cared about Taylie but his feeling was that Clary needed him the most. He knew either way Taylie would be fine and when this was all over they could get back together and talk about it. Jace was upset about it but he put his feeling aside to make sure everything inside the cave would go to plan.Simon was the first to speak when they all got to the front of the gated area.
"Yeah, this place isn't creepy." Simon said maybe a little too loud.
"Don't tell me your afraid." The brunette laughed.
"Are you kidding me? I was born afraid. Which sounded a lot better in my head." Simon maybe didn't think before he spoke.
"Let's check it out." Alec stated.
"Wait here a minute. I wanna see if it's safe." Jace commented back.
Simon turned to clary with pleading eyes.
"Why are we even doing this? We don't even know these people." Simon asked pleadingly.
"If something goes wrong. If something happens to her, that's on us." Alec made sure Jace understood what happens if something goes wrong. " you know this, don't you?" The brunette boy asked.
"Yeah." Jace said simply. "And you know exactly what'd happens if valentine gets the cup before we do. She's lost everything Alec." Jace added.
"I know what that feels like. What's your problem with her anyways?" Jace asked.
"Do you see the way she treats her sister." Alec said with disgust.
"Your family always used to welcome in strays." Jace said sadly.
"You were never a stray." Alec stated softly.
"The point is is, nothings changed. We're in this fight together. There's just two more of us." Jace says with a small smile.
Clary walked over to Simon to confide in him.
She sighs as she says. "I just wish my mom had trusted me enough to tell me about this."
"Maybe she was just protecting you." Simon replied back.
"What is it? what's wrong?" Clary asked.
"How in the world are you not freaked out about this." Simon blurted out.
"I guess, I just always felt like there was something missing." Clary stated out loud "some void I couldn't quite explain. Things finally make sense now." Clary added.
"But non of that matters unless I get my mom back." Clary said upset.
"Then let's do it!" Simon said happily.
"Clary, come on. It's all clear, let's go." Jace yelled.
"You have to understand, the silent brothers aren't like us. Brothers communicate without using words, using just their thoughts." The blonde said to the redhead.
