Western Visayas is rich in legends and myths, known for the many creatures believed to lurk in each region. Elders love to share chilling tales of these beings, including the infamous Tikbalang. Six friends set out on a mountain hike to explore the "Sacred Puting Bato." This site lies deep in the northern part of Western Visayas, specifically in the adjacent regions of Capiz, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental.

The Sacred Puting Bato is a cave filled with ancestral artifacts that the Tikbalang has guarded for many decades.

Locals warn that the Tikbalang, which roams the mountain, is both a guardian and a dangerous force. However, some don't believe the tale. Some people hold the belief that many individuals who ventured into the mountain never returned, and there are rumors that the Tikbalang, who are perceived more as a monster than a guardian, devoured them.

The six friends are determined to uncover the truth. Despite the warnings, they remain unstoppable in their pursuit.

Upon arriving at the grounds of the mountain, the group is relieved to find a tranquil area. The scene feels like a fantastical vision of nature: fog blending with golden sunlight, chilly wind swaying the trees to their own rhythms, and the air filled with chirps of the birds like a song.

"Finally, we're here!" Ladira squealed with excitement despite the fact that the mountain had numerous warning signs posted.

"Girl, shut up, Tikbalang might curse you," Reinn remarked, followed by a twisted expression. "Oh, don't mind me, I have a high spirit," Ladira chuckled, flipping her hair. "Wow!" Astrid's eyes sparkled as she gazed around mesmerized.

"What's with the warnings? Don't tell me that some of you actually believe this Tikbalang nonsense," Leo teased.

"It's just a rumor; it's not real," Yunxi said, handing a compass to Astrid.

"And how can you be so sure?" Dylan scoffed, Ladira's boyfriend, who is always there for her.

"Just saying," Yunxi shrugged.

"Nonsense."

Some laughed at the warnings, brushing them off as village superstitions.

"Tikbalang? Come on, it's just a legend—a myth—the tales our elders love to tell," Ladira said playfully.

"Come on, babe. Don't be playful, hmm?" Dylan whispered in Ladira's ear, handing her the map of the mountain. "You wanted to lead the way, right? After you," he smiled.

"Whatever," Ladira rolled her eyes, grabbing the map and tracing it with her fingers. She's determined to show them that the rumors were just that—rumors—and that there was no Tikbalang in their world.

As Ladira took the lead, they encountered several challenging routes to reach the Puting Bato. Nevertheless, they were unfazed; their curiosity and determination kept them exploring.

"Ladira, are we close to the Puting Bato?" Reinn huffs, pausing for a moment. Ladira checks the map, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she realizes they're at the cave's location.

"Guys, I think I know where the Puting Bato is. Look!" Leo gasped, pointing to his right. There, towering before them, was the Puting Bato. The stone surface of the cave showcased unique, intricate carvings, while the inside was bright like a hidden forest.
