We left Starbucks, me in Pete's arms - just like old times. He held me close, kept me safe. Something I wished he'd done years ago. We walked back to the car as my phone started ringing in my pocket - "From Now On We Are Enemies" ringing in my pocket. I smiled up shyly as I answered it.

"Hey Gabe, what up?" I asked Gabriel.

"Hey Jennybabe, I see you and Peteyboy are officially together. Tik tok... you've got ten days to make him drop you." Gabriel mocked, laughing on the other side of the line. If I didn't know my band mate any better I'd say he and Steve were up to no good.

"Yeah we are. Jealous much?" I joked, smiling at Pete. He gently took the phone from me, smirking as he ended the call before bending down to kiss me. I closed my eyes as he balanced me on his arm, deepening the kiss. We were in public - I couldn't care less as I tugged at his hair. An elderly couple gasped as they passed us and I felt Pete smiling against my lips, not faltering as he flipped them the bird.

"God, Jen - why did I leave you?" he asked, out of breath as he grinned, completely satisfied with himself.

"I ask myself that a lot." I confesses, pushing him away from me. He grabbed my hand, drawing me closer to him again.

"I'm not letting go this time - no matter what." oh shit.

"No matter what?" I asked him, smiling awkwardly. He squeezed my hand, whispering inches from my lips -

"No matter what." Believe me - I didn't want this to end, but for the sake of my band - it had to. This was going to end up in one epic battle - I had to loose him, he wanted to keep me and never let me go.

I had to loosr this guy in ten days (or less). I wasn't sure how I was going to pull this off successfully, but I had an idea. As soon as Pete dropped me off, I casually walked up the steps and waved him goodbye. I open my door and slide to the floor, groaning loudly at agreeing to this farfetched charade. I hual my lazy ass over to my study and take a seat at my desk, flipping my laptop open in the process. I open my search engine and type the only logical question I could think of - how to loose a guy in ten days. The answers pop up and I open the first page, dotting down notes as I read along:

1. Never say "I love you," "please," or "thank you." Don't show him that you appreciate him in any meaningful way. In fact, don't acknowledge any nice thing he does for you. Men want to be acknowledged by their girlfriends, and when they stop getting that acknowledgement, they start looking for other options.

2. Periodically avoid his phone calls, e-mails, and instant messages. When he tries to communicate with you from afar, make it hard for him to get through. If communication is the lifeblood of a relationship, cutting it off will deal a swift death to your relationship.
Have excuses ready like "Oh sorry, I couldn't find my phone," or "Sorry about that, was hanging out with Jake; he's so funny!" The more vague you are about your whereabouts, the better. He'll simmer with jealousy and doubt.
If he wants to know why you're never around anymore, or don't have time to talk to him, tell him something like: "My life is really starting to take shape right now; I'm trying to juggle more responsibilities and still find time to have fun."
Don't apologize for not being present. This will send him the message that you're going to try to make more time for him in the future, which you're obviously not trying to do.

3. When you do talk to him, have nothing to say. Be engaged in exciting and vivid conversations with everyone else in the room, but when it comes to him, make him figure out the conversation. This not-so-subtle sign will definitely have him wondering whether he's the right fit for you.
If you get a phone call, walk out of the room and let him sit there. If he and another person start talking to you at the same time, look at and talk to the other person before turning to and talking to him.
